I think Celtic should take a wild punt on approaching Mourinio.

Before you jump down my throat.. hear me out..

It's not the hardest sale in the world.

Celtic are a huge club
Celtic are renowned by players and fans globally as having the best atmosphere in the world
Celtic are one half of the greatest derby in the world
The fact slippy is at rangers, being a pretty big footballing name,is a challenge in itself. Perhaps a challenge Rodgers didn't have the balls to face next year after losing to him this year.
In mourinhos own words. Scottish football isn't anywhere near as good as English... Perhaps an incentive for him to bring worldwide attention back to Scottish Football.. a challenge in its own right.
Mourinho European record is fantastic with clubs such as Porto and Inter achieving more under him than they perhaps should have. Perhaps the challenge of taking European underdogs such as Celtic and stamping his mark on them is luring.
If we can pay 10mill for osdonne.. I'd gladly say * it. Give mourinhos 8-10mill A YEAR. For his services. Money talks... Bullshit walks.

Ok.. it's not the greatest league. But if he getting offered more at Celtic for a few seasons to see out 10 in a row... .. it's only 2 years... I'd gladly let the club spend 16 to 20 mill on the right man for ten in a row. The club needs to loosen the purse strings because this opportunity to win ten in a row may not come for another 50 years and if they miss out on it. Looking back in hindsight... 16 to 20 mill for ten in a row... would seem like an arm biter of a deal.

What bigger challenge than taking a huge club that deserves to be playing in a better league...who.. due to the shitebagness of the fa who are scared that 10 years of English tv cash could see there title come north of the border.. is restricting Celtic from enjoying the same luxury of English football Welsh teams like Cardiff and Swansea are afforded.. Scottish discrimination much??? Yeah it's ok for Welsh teams to join our leagues. But not Scottish teams. Even if you start at the bottom. Discrimination much????


Celtic have proven in Europe.. that despite huge gulfs in quality and finance. We can mix it... we have beaten man u. Liverpool. We have held man city. We have beaten Barca. Juve. Inter.. the list goes on and on.


I'm not being funny. But let's say mourinho took a job like a.c Milan,bayern or real again. And won champs league.. hardly a huge achievement is it.. they are expected year in year out to be there or there abouts



But let's say... he takes Celtic to ten in a row.. and genuinely competes in Europe while helping the Scottish game grow as a whole.

That's a far bigger achievement. And it is.

It may be madness but he can only say no and like I said. Money talks. He can only say no. No harm in floating a cheeky wee offer to him that pays more than anywhere else. He would consider it purely based on money.. but also the bigger challenge.

He also enjoys being centre of attention. The main man... well.. he would walk right into the centre of attention in Scotland that's for sure.
