There was some fan event when McGrain was a speaker and was asked about it.

 

A Q&A with McAvennie and another ex-player (can't remember who) supposedly McGrain was asked about the story and he said he feels embarrassed everytime someone asks him about it because it never happened.

Does show that he has got a big ego.... Generally speaking though that's the way the clubs should be thinking yes we need to work to a budget and get the best out of what we have... But we do have enough money to build the infrastructure... The new pitch the lights Hotel... Just waiting on the dome and extension to Lennoxtown and the football operation is gonna get bigger with the stake in shamrock rovers

One season wonder. Last year the home games became a * chore. I kept thinking it was because it was to easy and the players were slacking off, needed a kick up the *.. thought the hearts 4-0 would be it.. it wasn’t. No one will believe me because it’s easy to say now.. but I said last year I’d sooner have Lennon in charge.. HONEST

 

People rage about the infrastructure being upgraded, should be spent on the team and all of that, but actually it’s a good thing. In the end the hotel and everything else will make the club money, or they wouldn’t bother doing it. So in the long run we will be better off for it

 

I agree if your a big club you need to think and act like one
