He is quoted as saying the following:

"I`ve enjoyed my time at Burnley, learnt so much at the club but I now feel it`s time for me to move on.

"I need a fresh challenge at my stage of my career.

"I`ve given my all to Burnley but don`t feel wanted. No player is going to stay where he is not wanted.

"I was happy under previous manager Steve Cotterill, things have changed though and to be honest I don`t feel the same way.

"If I had been given the opportunity to leave during the last two transfer windows I would have left — however those bids were turned down by the club."

As i say it appears he thinks he is now the big man because a few bigger clubs have come in for him, it seems to have unsettled him. Only in January he came out and said how happy he was at Burnley, which is strange given his comments above. A bit of gratitude wouldn't have went a miss for the club who has brought him into football. I could understand it if he had set the Championship alight and wanted to move on to a bigger club but he's hardly been prolific.

Although be aware these quotes have come from the Belfast Telegraph one of the most unrealiable sources of media in the world!!!!!

Spot on, if he thinks he is going to get an easy ride of it at either of the OF or even Wolves for that matter he has another thing coming. There is much more expectancy at all 3 of these clubs in comparison to Burnley (no offence poolebhoy!) and as a Wolves fan I can assure him it will only take a couple of bad performances before certain sections of the support get on his back! I'm sure the OF would be no different.

:icon_mrgreen: None taken Norniron, he did manage to score one of his few goals this year when we beat the "big club" :56:

Seriously though the BFC faithful were prepared to put up with in different performances because he's a young, developing talent. If someone pays £3-4M for him he won't be afforded that luxury

He signed for the Huns about an hour ago. Shame he's a decent player, uncle is a Burnley season ticket holder and rumour has it Owen was trying to push him to us. * him he's made his bed now.

Got this from another forum who got it from a Burnley forum from a Burnley fan who claims to be in the know:

Kyle Lafferty's departure from Burnley to Rangers is imminent if it hasn't gone through already, and if the news tonight is correct then it will smash Burnley's record sale previously set when Ade Akinbiyi was sold to Sheffield United in January 2006.

Details are filtering through that a deal has been done and that Lafferty is now a Rangers player although this has not as yet been confirmed by either club. There's been wild speculation as to how much the deal is worth and until such time as there is any confirmation then it can be nothing but speculation.

However I've been led to believe that the Clarets will receive a guaranteed fee of £3.25 million from Rangers with a further £500,000 in add ons whilst it also looks as though Alan Gow will become Owen Coyle's first Burnley signing as part of the deal.

It has all been a whirlwind 24 hours. It looked as though Rangers, thought to be Lafferty's preference, were out of the running but they've come back with a vengeance and given the Clarets an acceptable offer.

There is sure to be more on this tomorrow - but it is looking increasingly likely that Kyle Lafferty, who was discussing personal terms with Rangers, is no longer a Burnley player

Is this guy really crap? Walter Smith can be quite an astute manager.

Dobbin A mistake often made by ourselves is the Dark side residing at castle greyskull. I think you will find that heman protected greyskull while skeletor resided at snake mountain. Anyway enough of heman and the masters of the universe.

If this guy really wants to go and play for a team that may not even have champs league next season then fine.

If we do get atleast 1 of the tp quality players being talked about then I will be happy. We need another striker but at the same time We may go for a loan signing for the year as our ability to afford the big wages is difficult.

I believe that the transfer fees are within our reach but the wages are very limited which ultimately protects the long term future of our beloved club.

Yes! :icon_mrgreen: It was just a ploy to get them to pay over the odds, that's them wasted nearly £6M on 3 average strikers :56:

    Kyogo. A phenomenon

Absolutely wonderful news - 4 million on him, 2 on Miller, 1.5 on Velicka and STILL they have Cousin! A gathering of Donkeys! Splendid!!

For a horrible couple of days, i thought the lanky pr^ck would end up in Paradise - time for us to turn our attention to strikers who actually hit a net on occasion...

Rangers appear to have won the race to sign Burnley striker Kyle Lafferty.

Celtic and Wolves have been linked with a transfer for the towering forward, but Gers look set to close a deal this week.

Lafferty is expected to join Walter Smith's side for a fee in the region of £3million.

Should the switch go ahead, Lafferty will become Gers' third striker capture of the summer following the arrivals of Kenny Miller and Andrius Velicka.

Lafferty, 20, scored five goals in 40 games for Championship side Burnley last season. :50:

5 goals in 40 games at Championship level is lamentable but the guy surely must have something? Hopefully not now!

10 goals in 83 games for Burnley isn't exactly scary is it, Miller got 24 in the Championship once in a single season.
