Would be an awful choice. A bonafide loser, awful style of play, tactically rigid and undermined us by saying he was offered the job before Rodgers.

Chris Davies to get it right up Rodgers

Though Marco Rose I think could gives us what we need to develop for European football.

Hope we put the feelers out to Marco Rose. Not sure if we could pull it off and would involve transforming how the club is run.

If Lenny gets the best out of this squad and wins the treble playing good football, then I’d be happy with that..

As much as Lennon would be the less expensive obvious choice I can’t shake the thought that Lawwells ego will make him want his moment in the spotlight sitting shoulder to shoulder with a bigger name.

His names not on the poll but if Celtic are not on the phone to Mourinhos people they are not doing their job properly.

A bigger name than Rodgers and victor over him and Gerrard in the run in of the Slippy season.

A guy thats won trophies in Portugal, England, Spain, Germany and Italy is not wedded to a particular league but does see himself as a Champions League manager.

His stock is low - he is not going to walk into a top job in the bigger Leagues at the moment so may see Celtic as a way of falling back in love with the game again and getting more trophies on the CV. Hes not a guy thats going to just take any mid table job in England like a Leicester City.

Unprovoked he has spoken about the club recently and in this interview seems to have an idea of where hes managing next. He wants stability, stricture behind the scenes and ambition to win trophies.

    https://www.skysports.com/football/...oping-to-avoid-internal-conflict-at-next-club

No one needs to convince him about the size and ambition of the club, he saw it himself with his own eyes in Seville and when we played Real Madrid in America in 2012.

Would winning the 10 make up for Seville? Probably not.

Could this be the dream team?

Surprised to see more people want Steve Clarke than Rafa Benitez. I think Rafa would be an excellent appointment. I like the idea of having a manager who has no personal affiliation to the club (or ALLEGED affiliation in the case of Rodgers..) and will just approach the team from a tactical, footballing perspective and not necessarily an emotional one. With that said, I don't think Rafa would come up to manage in Scotland.

Mourinho's style of play is completely incongruous with the mythos of playing football 'the Celtic way'. And while that seems silly to place too much stock in, I think it goes a long way.

We would've said the same about Rodgers before he was announced and all this talk about being negative or not playing the ‘Celtic way’ as the bunnet once said ‘show me your medals’.

And anyway, with the budget that Celtic operate with pragmatism would give us a better chance of progress in Europe than Rodgers type of idealism.

I’m not saying Mourinho is the ideal candidate but anyone who’s not taking Lawwells and Desmonds ego into the equation isn’t thinking this through, especially when King wasn't challenged on his comments about Gerrard being the biggest name brought into Scottish Football in years.

Only reason I'd like to see mourinho get it would be the inevitable war he would forge with the * corrupt refs in Scotland :giggle1:

At the risk of appearing unwise and not all knowing, who the * is Marco Rose?

Sounds like a hairdresser or tattoo artist

He’s the RB Salzburg manager who is way out our reach, but put a Celtic scarf on once so people are dreaming :39:

No way for Mourinho. One * has just left anyway would never happen. Not the fact that Celtic would be beneath him but Scottish football is.
