Well let’s stick to what we do know, the player wanted to stay and the manager wanted to keep the player but he wasn’t offered a new deal. It’s pretty clear to me that someone outside of the football side of things thought it’s best the player left. Now I didn’t actually like Samaras so it doesn’t bother me, but surely the manager should be given the tools to do the job. Isn’t this why Lennon left last time which was my point.

A gamble would have to throw him in with absolutely no experience at all at the club, which unfortunately happened.

I pretty much answered the second paragraph in my last post, Norwich, Crystal Palace and Southampton are a far bigger stepping stone to a top EPL club because they are proving themselves against the very same teams the big EPL clubs will play. You can not care about the big EPL clubs opinions all you like and I don't give a * about them either but the fact is they are the ones spending the money on these players and they want players proven at the their level of league, not players tearing it up against Kilmarnock and St Johnstone etc week in week out, even CL performances for Celtic doesn't register with them as it's 6 games a season at the least.

Yeah I made a joke about Wenger being tight and Lawwell loving tight managers. It was a joke, nothing more and nothing less.

There's no club in the world that I know of where the manager is the most powerful person at the club, hence the fact that a board of directors can sack the manager any time they like regardless of success.

Snake Rodgers actions haven't protected anyone, I'll criticise Lawwell when and only when he starts making a * of the job he's employed to do.

I think there was many reasons why Lennon left, he even gave one himself saying he was bored and he found it hard to motivate himself for SPL games after playing CL games. Then there was the threats, attacks, bullets in the post, sectarian abuse constantly directed at him. The board and/or Lawwell may have been one reason but certainly not the only one.

Instead of a team of seasoned professionals like any team the size of Celtic should We have £40 million in a bank and a team made up of youths, loan players and those who are done ,as much as a rat as Rodgers is it was him got us playing well inspite of that rat lawwell not spending money on players .
this summer is going to be chaos, absolute chaos on the verge of equalling our 9 in a row with record we need a new manager to build a new team

Rodgers signed them 20 odd players , There was always going to have to clear out the likes of Compper ,Gamboa,Allan,Hendry etc doing nothing there , even if he stayed no guarantee it was going to get any better.

Peter Lawwell is currently the fifth highest paid CEO in British football.

It is easier running an SPL side, than it is a corporate marketing machine of an EPL side. A massive Celtic fan that hasn't chased Rangers for the titles that caused misery to every single Celtic fan alive to witness the cheating.

Also you can have better more valuable players and not be as successful as Rodgers has been , so his Success has made up for his duff signings. he was given money but used a lot of it on *.

Nobody has a clue what the * is going on with transfers other than if somebody is playing well they are sold as soon as possible, Rodgers came in and performed minor miracles with deilas team what has lawwel done to improve the team since he's been here ,limit players wages ? Sell good players? Hardly inspiring

That's debatable, with the revenue stream the EPL teams have access to compared to up here, it's much easier to plan long term and balance the books with a guaranteed income like SKY money, or fire into debt because you know with that income it's serviceable. We don't have that luxury, without the CL money at least 2/4 seasons our current wage bill is probably outwith our means, our finances could turn a lot quicker than some fans like to admit because we have millions in the bank at the moment and everything looks rosy.

We sold Dembele for 20m and Armstrong for 8m , so we brought in Edouard for 9m , Rodgers was then looking for more players like 4m McGinn,8m Piccini we cant keep doing that .

He also spent 3m on Kouassi who's not been seen, Ntcham 4.5m and Sinclair 4m good buys. but what about the rest?

French media reported Odsonne Edouard cost £4.5m. There may be a deal in place that the eventual fee rises to £9m, but I doubt the clauses will ever be met - as they'll be that ludicrous.

The upcoming accounts will show whether or not he cost £9m - as they showed that Ntcham did not cost £4.3m, but in fact every signed player combined cost £4.3m that summer.

The next manager will get money too don't worry about that , we need to use it more wisely.
8m-10m signings are looking for big wages aswell on 5 year deals it can't be done in Scottish football keep making those signings all the time , we need to scout.

The fact you are refering to our players as assets shows how lawwell has completely * the mindset of celtic.the players wages are capped at £25k per week the last i looked why should this not apply to everybody at the club or scrap the cap

People need to realise Lawwell isn’t the problem, he’s only doing the job he’s asked by Dermot and doing it very well in terms of running the club as a business to make profits.

Only way anything will change is by Dermot being bought out or allowing fan ownership. Neither of which will happen anytime soon unfortunately. As long as we keep winning trophies nothing will change.

I think it is far harder to run Celtic than any epl team. Celtic don't have 100m guaranteed plus sponsors. A report showed about half their clubs could break even having closed door matches. At Celtic you have to get so much money from sponsors, merchandise and so on. I imagine the negotiation with sponsorship is harder too. I seem to be one of the few who believe the hotel to be a great investment because people will stay at it. When my boy gets older I will take him for a few days there doing a tour and a match.

Dermot Desmond was in charge when Celtic were in a European final, and fielding world class players.
