Eddie Howe from Bournemouth? For some reason hasn’t been in for a big job yet, love his style of play only issue now is the mental money of the EPL may keep him there.

Love Lenny and happy to have him till end of the season but we need to be aiming higher, Marco Rose would be class but imagine a lot od German clubs are interested in him.

Neil Lennon for the 10 if we bag the 8 and the cup. What a story, starts the first 3 and then finishes the last 3 for 10.

If he wins the league this year, he will have won it 4 times which is put him 3rd on his own behind Stein with 10 and Maley 16.

    oh btw * Brendan Rodgers

I fail to see how it be unrealistic to obtain Rose for the start of next season, his wages would be at least 10 grand less a week than Rodgers so money isn't an issue. If there are clubs in england interested in him it would only be the bottom half clubs , sure he's been linked with man u but aren't all half decent managers being linked to them? Bundesliga is probably his ambition but since he will be in line to replace the current Leipzig manager in the next 3-4 years I'm not sure they would want him coaching another Bundesliga side.

He speaks perfect English so language barrier wouldn't be too much of a problem. His contract is expiring next June so he hasn't committed to Salzburg yet, the only problem would be getting them to hand over his back room staff. Last thing we need is another manager getting shafted by Congertons poor scouting. Eddie Howe is unrealistic, seems to be only one of a few english managers whos actually good at his job- so his value will be highly inflated.

Rose will be highly sought after by clubs in bigger leagues and with bigger budgets, the league he is in just now is better than ours so how exactly would you sell Celtic to him if he’s already being courted by bigger clubs. Rodgers was unemployed that’s why we could get him along with the massive salary for a fairly sure bet on his part.

Wagner did a great job at Huddersfield in his first year, good coach and respectful to his players

Austria is a better league than ours and I'm not doubting that (quality wise, our league gets more than double the average attendance) but I'm sure he left here with a good impression of our club and 60'000 fans for the big games under the lights while having a bigger budget to work with. Salzburg are like us in many ways, a manager will usually stay at a club for 3 years max until things do get stale as like our league they only have 11 teams to compete with.

We tempt him with a bigger wage (somewhere around 30-35 grand a week), promise him the full control of his back room staff, trophies to be won, it's also a great place for him to learn and develop new tactics. Realistically what teams are out there that are bigger than us are going to sign him next season if he does leave? Look at Adi Hutter (the Salzburg manager who we faced 5 years ago) he left them after only a year in charge and won them the double, he then resigned to go to Young Boys for 3 seasons (which could've been seen as a step down but more of a challenge) and he won the Swiss League even though they were underdogs and now he is the Frankfurt coach and we all know how well their doing this season. I just can't see a manager going to the likes of a Man U or a Chelsea straight from Salzburg because of Europa League success, the arrogance and pride is far too precious for the top english teams to get him- I mean Lenny got us to the last 16 and beating the likes of Barcelona in the Champions League and a year or two later the only team to come in for him was * Bolton

Looks like it's all but confirmed by Wikipedia: [IMG]

If Lennon doesn't work out, Steve Clarke or Michael O'Neill seem like good fits for me. They are also realistic options unlike some of the names being thrown about in here....

Looks like Clarke has ruled himself out.

Marco Rose is unrealistic as they come imo. We could offer more than his current wage perhaps sure, but if they really wanted to keep him they could double or triple his wages if they needed to.

More I think about the more Wenger makes sense. He has no chance of getting a top level job, but wants to return management. We could offer him the one thing he lacks in his management career, a collection of trophies. He also offers us the advantage of significant knowledge and contacts in foreign markets, which would be a massive help what with Rodgers conveniently forgetting to take Congerton with him. Could hopefully bring in some decent prospects that could be around for a while. Also, sexy football (perhaps), and the Wenger's motivation to attempt some kind of overachievement in Europe in his potentially last ever job after years of underachieving.

Wenger Wenger Wenger, in case saying his name 3 times helps.

Wenger would be some signing. Hes always played great football, he loves
young local lads, developing talent and everyone respects him. Hes got a huge name aswel so will draw attention from all over the place. Those young French guys will play under him and hes not a snakey rat *. Hes loyal as *.

    Get him in!!!!

    Appreciate we can’t get Rose.

But we should at least try for someone like that. Make a real statement.

The fans need to stop being pessimistic too because that’s what allows our board to appoint either Lennon or Clarke. How long until Roy Keane is in with a shout?

We need to push the club to sign a quality manager.

If Lennon wins the two trophies available and gets us performing the remainder of the season then he should get the job imo. It’s not the manager position I’m that worried about, it’s the * Rodgers has left us with ie Congerton.
