The alarm bells were ringing when his only target to replace Roberts was Harry Wilson and Liverpool were repeatedly putting it out that there was zero chance they were sending any players up here after how little Musonda and Roberts played last season but Rodgers seemed to think we could get him.

Well we can't all agree on everything can we? I'm just as gutted as everyone else and I hope that we get some clarification as to why it's happened. I was the same when Lenny left without a proper send off. It doesn't sit comfortably with me until I know more.

This has really left a sour taste.
It seems he's just another badge-kissing mercenary leaving his 'dream job' for a once in a lifetime opportunity at Leicester City.

Ronny is sacked/leaves. A treble treble is on the line..

Rodgers is mid table with nothing to play for at Leicester..

His boyhood club comes in for him with a now or never offer..

    He'd absolutely laugh it off..

A bawhair off 10 in a row and he decides to * off to Leicester. He knows how much that 10 means to all of us. Can’t get my head round it.

All managers have a shelf life at a club, i think many of us thought Brendan's would expire in the summer, the timing of this is quite alarming tbh, had it been something like the Chelsea job i would've understood it.

If he's gone at this point of the season with 2 trophies still on the line I would say to him and hope they get relegated if he stayed and won the treble treble he would be in the top 4 ever barely scrapes top 6 right now.

I just can't believe he would pull the plug on us at this crucial point of the season, he maybe meeting with them come to some arrangement that's let's him stay here until our season is over.

This is * bizarre. Leicester have unrealistic expectations based on a one-off event and have a dressing-room clique that wields too much power. It is the ultimate poison chalice, so why on earth go there now? There will be better opportunities in the EPL, there won't be many worse! His career could be in tatters by the time Celtic get eight. It is completely illogical.

I can't say I am overly distressed about him leaving as I never took to him. I saw the word 'pretentious' earlier and that's how he always came across. I never felt his love for Celtic was genuine and I felt he was too flash for a support that I always see as honest. I also have been unable to listen to a single word he said since long before he came to Celtic. Even quotes from him in the paper came across as embarrassing. The David Brent comparisons were appropriate.
Also, and I know this makes me a judgemental * and a hypocritical one as I don't, as a rule, believe in people's personal lives being made public, but it is hard to have much sympathy for anyone who * off on their partner of 20 odd years for a young one. No class and no loyalty. We were always likely to be treated the same.

The football has been * for over a year now too. We are often awful to watch and there is often a distinct lack of fight and heart. No 'Plan B' , no fight and too many players with talent and no balls. Not to mention the Boyata bollocks that he has to take responsibility for. It will also be nice going into European games not expecting to be done by 5 or 6 too.

In two years time Celtic will be lifting the tenth and Rodgers will be left counting his thirty pieces. Get to * Brendan.

He was on loan last season, as I said he was brought permanently because Dembele was inevitably leaving in the near future. There's no chance the board would have paid out £9m for him if they weren't expecting Dembele's departure, they were planning ahead. Its not really a new thing for a club to bring in a replacement for a player they know won't be there for long before he actually leaves, for example I'm pretty sure we'll have signed Scott Brown's replacement before he retires and he'll play alongside Brown occasionally.

And why didn't he get a replacement for Armstrong then? Or Roberts? Do you know for a fact it was the board that scuppered it rather than there just being no realistic targets identified?
