Honestly think writing has been on the wall since Slippy G got the Hun gig and then the McGinn dabocal.

Rodgers is an ego man and for a rookie manager to be given a job at them lot as their first club probably gave him a reality check of the stock of Scottish football and his achievements to date in the grand scheme of things.

If you’re top dog at work and some newbie fresh out of uni gets the same job status as you, you’d be miffed too

Lennon will need to have learned as well though, part of the reason we fell away under Lennon near the end was he let the standards of training slip and we weren't near as fit as we are now. Mind when Deila came in he thought we were in a shocking state, Stokes, Commons etc all soft as * Forrest and Lustig getting injured all the time.

A big reason we are dominating domestically now is we are much fitter than everyone else. We play more games now as well and have to be even fitter than we were under Lennon just to cope given the January break which means more games are squeezed into less time.

If Lennon doesnt have this team trained right the wheels will come off although i'd imagine Desmond and Lawwell will be aware of this and Lennon has probably improved so there should be good coaches coming in to keep the standard up.

I couldn't see it, not with Leicester and certainly not at this stage in a season. I didn't actually want Rodgers at start, I wanted Moyes :56::52::52::52:
I was totally sold on Rodgers though and especially with his story about his auld da while he held back tears and was choked up.

    100% right in my opinion.

If Lennon comes back he must be forced to work under a professional structure the same way the big clubs around the world are working.

Anyone after Rodgers is going to be a comedown but I'll take Lennon just now to see us over the line in the league, treble's a lot less likely though with his cup record.

He made is discontent in the summer was clear, as much as I've not wanted to admit it, writing has been on the wall since then. Blame the board 100%, just disappointed he's done it mid-season.

When he became Liverpool manager he ditched his wife for a younger model, got bright white teeth, lost all that weight and got a tan. The man is all ego

In the time Brendan Rodgers was celtic Manager - Leicester have went through 4 permemant managers!

Imagine leaving a job where he would not have been sacked to a club who have went through 4 managers in same time he has been at Celtic!!!!

    Beyond angry tbh.

I blame so many involved in this, from board to Rodgers to Leicester.

All that talk and books about Tommy Burns from him now mean * all.Burns was a true celt.

Lenny is safe hands however I don't know if he could take on the SFA and the referee rats every week and not be sitting in the stands after it.

Gutted and Raging....i didnt mind him * off in the summer as I think we may have needed a new injection of appetite for the last big push against the powers that be up here...but to leave like this is ....no words really

    A great night definitely.

Invincible treble and double treble were better than a win against Barca though imo.

Rodgers is stubborn/naïve in Europe for sure but domestically he’s been far superior to Lennon imo.

They said the same about the invincible season celtic had all those years ago.... It probably will not in my liftime though... Put it this way their is more chance of celtic finishing a invincible season than their is in winning the champions league

Left us right in the * out the blue. That'll show Peter instead of leaving gracefully in the summer with respect going both ways..

“When you come into any club, you come in for the longer term,” Rodgers said. “I look at Martin O’Neill, he was here for five years. Neil Lennon was here for four seasons. So you want to bring success to the club and, however long that takes, you want that opportunity.

“ At this moment in time, I’ve got no thoughts of Celtic being a stepping stone and moving back into the Premier League. I don’t want to work in the Premier League for 20 years, hence the reason I came up here.

    -
    ah ok then

"The Club has been in magnificent shape in recent years and has collected silverware regularly during this time. My objective now, of course, is to continue this work, to keep us at the top and again make our mark in Europe”

    -
    failed that objective then

“This is one of the great clubs of the world, an institution, so for me to come here is a huge honour and a privilege."

    - Yep, all the best topping this

Just some snippets from when BR arrived, welcomed by 14,000 fans. Looking forward to hear what he says about taking the job at a mid-table EPL side.
