The greatest seasons I can remember the guy was a class act. Give Niel Lennon the job.

 

He can’t take any of the players just now, however the players may respect him but will question how a “Celtic fan” can leave with only a handful of games to go on the journey to immortality and legendary status especially to utter no marks like Leicester. I lived in the East Midlands for years and you need to see this set up to believe it. Subutteo stadium, turnips for fans and only EPL money holding it together.

Mid table mediocrity awaits, or worse.

The board have backed Brendan, the wages are at an all time high due to signings and retention of players he wanted to keep. Last January he was backed to the hilt on relative duds. In the summer we missed out on McGinn, big deal as he is no better than any of our current full team of midfielders. We may have tried and failed on other defensive targets, but Brendan isn’t big on defence.

I wonder what they will all have to say?

If he leaves then he does a quiet deal and stays to complete his mission till the summer, to go now is an outrage, disrespectful and selfish. He knows fine well the ramifications of him leaving at this stage.

*only caveat would be if his or his family have been threatened etc*

Board must take 100% of the blame for Rodgers leaving.

But Rodgers needs to take the blame for leaving mid-season. Inexcusable for me. You don’t abandon Celtic like that.

I wonder if all the folk that slaughtered Dembele will now do the same for Rodgers.

 

Even if he does knock Leicester back the damage is done, he is off ffs people.

 

Actions always speak louder than words ( and his words in recent times have been very measured).

The loan signings, the lack of planning for the future, the McGinn saga, getting dumped out of the Europa in conclusive fashion.....I think the writing has been in the wall for some time.

 

Only bright side of this whole episode will be the fact that it looks like Neil Lennon will be coming in to replace him. Whether it is short term or not, Neil is an absolute winner and will not let standards drop. In fact, may get a boost from him.

 

Has the chance to be mentioned in the same breath as Willie Maley, Jock Stein, Tommy Burns, Henrik Larsson, Fergus McCann.

If he leaves now I'll look back at wee strachan, O'Neil and Lenny with more fond memories.

Bad one if as expected Rodgers leaves now, its not that Leicster urgently need a manager theyre mid table and going nowhere : dont forget Rodgers is excellent but the bulk of players date from RD's time, bulk of Rodgers singsong havent really cut it have they ?

 

Weirdly not as gutted about this as I thought I'd be. As others have said that the writing was on the wall in the summer. The guys a class act and good luck to him going forward.

My only hope is he takes Lee Congerton with him.

As a fan, l have no control over this. My advice is... look back with kindness. All that other stuff just taints the good times !
