i consider my self a catholic,bt not sure if i really beleive in * because i do,or tht i claim to believe in * out of fear tht if i dont believe in him i wont get to heaven(if tht makes sense).i pray every night, just sayin thanks etc.i wear a crucifix.i dont go to chapel, woodnt really know how to go about it.a few times iv said i will go bt always find excuses(hungover, goin to the pub, watchin football) one thing i do beleive in is fate.i beleive tht every thing happens for a reason and tht everything is part of gods "masterplan"

If I got asked I'd say I'm Catholic but I don't go to the Chapel and really my religous beliefs are just that I believe in * and some form of after life but that's about it.

    * doesn't have a masterplan! There's no * in the first place for a masterplan to even exist! We evolved from other living things and through time we humans have become the most evolved creatues on earth. When we disappear we will be replaced by the next most evolved creature and we most certainly won't be going to any "heaven" we will go back to the earth and create new life or be "reincarnated" through our bodies decomposition feeding other life forms. Think about it...if, hypothetically speaking, your "*" does exist, what sort of masterplan is he carrying out? Look at the murders and injustices that have been commited in his name througout time, the other belief systems that have been wiped out because they go against his system, the amount of actual full civilisations wiped out, the wars started! If thats his masterplan the more the fools us cos he most certainly isn't showing any of his great compassion that he's apparently near bursting with.

I believe there's an afterlife and that something is testing me, recently nothing but bad things have happened and I think it's a test of faith

One thing annoys me about religon, how many portray women as the most powerful?

    I don't kill anything eithier but that's just because I'm a softy.

The root of misogyny is in religion.

    I've noticed
Muslim women have next to no rights.
I hope nobody takes any offence, that's just an observation.

hahaha lectured on World Affairs by an American ! Thats a welcome change in American Foreign Policy !! (sorry couldnt resist that)
You're quite correct I generalised a lot during that post.
The roots of the Palestinian question is not a religious one, however it is almost impossible now to separate the Homeland issue from the Religious issue.
I thought the Nazis made no distinction between "ethnic" Jews and people were not ethnic Jews e.g. those who had married into Jewish families ( and subsequently adopted Judaism), that would make it a Religious question.
Just another point on the Holocaust, Jehovahs Witnesses were also sent to the Camps, JW dont have any ethnic background whatsoever, that would make their persecution a religious one.

    It was "ethnic cleaning"

the SS thought that the jehovah witness etc were diluting the german race because they felt they had mental deficiencies.

they made no distinction but it wasnt because of religion it was because it was diluting the aryan blood by marrying into a jewish family.. which was the biggest sin a young german could make.

german women who were caught having * with jewish men had their reproductive organs removed on a first offense and 2nd they were killed. it was all about preserving the german race and keeping the bloodline pure. its all eugenics built on centuries of antisemitism.

I dont believe "*" is a human being who knocks around in the clouds and sends people to eternal damnation if they don't follow 10 rules that he wrote. That is ridiculous, I think its scary that people believe this stuff. Check this out, its from the documentary zeitgeist and explains where the stories behind modern religion came from.
