January Transfer window

yep that transfer window all but confirmed Rodgers is away at the end of the season. Rebuild time in 6 months and the next manager is going to be left with a lot of duds, the board then not wanting to invest too much on replacements and us going into the champions league qualifiers with about 5-6 new players who get 3-4 pre-season games to play together as a team. On the bright side we got a right back to hide the cracks in our defence for 6 months!

 

100% agree come the summer the window will go like this.

Plenty of time bhoys don’t worry, everyone is on holiday deals will get done.

We have enough to get us through the early two rounds.

It’s tricky to get anyone in cause they are new and not match fit.

Other leagues can offer more, we have to play it smart.

Still plenty of time bhoys, weeks left.

Players are still waiting to see if we get into the champions league.

Low offers for our main targets who our manager wants until a team comes in and offers the asking price, see McGinn and others in the past.

Oh we have missed the deadline to sign them for the play off games no point now just wait.

Just waiting for the English teams to see who is not being registered for the season.

Still plenty of time a couple of weeks left.

Knocked out of the the champions league, ah players won’t come now.

Here come the panic buys and mass loans.....

Don’t worry come January we will bed players in for the coming qualifying games...... and the roundabout continues.

Happy enough with the business done. Whole window felt better than any previous one, and now we’re finished I’m chuffed at where we’re at. Of course it could have been even better but hey ho.

Attacking wise I'm happy we've brought in some, don't know anything on them so we'll see how that goes, risky perhaps.

I'm still confident the league is ours but CB still has me worried.

I defo believe weve stuck the 2nd last nail in the coffin for Europe.

For me we need 2 new CBs, regardless who is at the club at the moment (I exclude Boyata and Benkovic who won't be there). Going in with 3 new Defenders or what we already have will prove too much for qualification for CL which is getting hard enough.

I do have a feeling the signings suggest Brendan could be away, load of loans and the whole Shved deal makes me feel that way.

 

Yeah the board * off Neil Lennon and now think Brendan also has had enough of this board also .

Weah is cover for Griff IMO. We play with one striker and we have 4 now.

Burke is in since Arzini is injured IMO.

I’d agree though that the defense situation is a shambles. Until he’s signed elsewhere, you never know about Boyata (which is scarey). As it stands, we have 4 right backs, 6 centre backs and 2 left backs....it’s mental but doesn’t mean Rodgers is away ffs.

 

After the shambles of a summer transfer window this window was always going to be indicative of how willing we were to make amends to Brendan for pulling the rug from under his feet.

3 x 6 month loan deals, the purchase of a player that he hadn't physically watched himself and that doesn't play in a position he deemed an urgent priority don't scream backing the manager to me. I could be wrong but I think this season is Rodgers last as well. If he leads us to a Treble Treble and walks then it will be bitter sweet and something we'll likely look back on in years and think 'what if?'

3 6 month loans, 3 projects & a perm striker. I have said it many times. It seems Rodgers wants a quality that the board are unwilling to pay for, that's why the loan deals. Im sure at the AGM it was all about, we will be backing Rodgers.

 

Rogers is not 100% in charge of transfers and think he's had enough and its a shame really especially if we do the treble treble.

 

TBH. I don't think many managers are these days. If it was only 1 to 10 Rodgers would stay but another 2 years of the transfed farce. I think he is away in the summer.

It was a good window in that we freshened up the squad for the rest of the season which was much needed. Big disappointment though that we're going to go into the CL qualifiers again with a depleted squad, especially defensively.

At this stage though, and the way the first half of the season went, I'll just be glad when we get the league wrapped up. Just hoping the Benkovic injury isn't as bad as the rags were saying.
