Never miss a opportunity to bleed us of more money. Transfer window has been a joke again. Time our club was taken over by supporters least all our money coming in would be going towards the team

Izaguirre, Lustig, and Ambrose on the pitch together again, what a prospect. Assembling a team of Celtic all time greats here.

That isn't true, Rodgers has benefited from Lenny, Ronny and the academy when it comes to sales. The only one that could be argued to be Brendan's is Dembele; but we know that talks with him were already well advanced under Ronny. Perhaps Brendan's star power convinced Moussa to come, but at most he can get half the credit (£10 million) for that.

I don't know why Ronny's contributions to this club always get whitewashed out of our history.

To be clear, I'm definitely not saying Ronny was a better manager than Brendan, that would be ridiculous. Brendan is a fabulous manager; Ronny was OK, neither one of the worst in our history nor one of the best.

I'm also not saying Ronny was a better coach than Brendan. Ronny was an excellent coach, but Brendan is even better.

What I am saying is that Ronny had a better record in the transfer market than Brendan has shown so far (although Lenny's was even better- the best in our entire history IMO). I think the record shows that.

I love Brendan and desperately want him to stay; but let's not pretend his record in the transfer market is better than it is by crediting him with Ronny and Lenny's investments.

Finally, with his knowledge of the game, I simply refuse to believe that Brendan cannot spot a player. There's more going on here than meets the eye and he and Lawwell (great though they both are at their jobs) are both to blame (and Congerton needs to leave right now).

Peter Lawwell really needs to get out of the club after this calamity. Either that or hire a director of football who is capable of actually taking transfer dealings by the reins. Even if we sign a RB or CB today, his oversight of our transfer business the past couple years has been actually comedic. As the GB alluded to with the banner, Rodgers is without a doubt the best manager the club is able to get, and not backing him at this point in time and refusing to invest more than 1-2 million pounds on a player or only looking short-term with a * 6 month loan deal is akin to spitting in the face of every supporter who spends their hard earned money to back the club. I know there's probably more going on behind the scenes and Rodgers could very well be off at the end of this year anyway, but that does not excuse the board's behavior at all. If anything, that gives us even MORE reason to invest in the personnel of the team going forward for life without Brendan so we aren't just a hollowed out shell of a team come the summer.

And yet all 3 of them lined up in the victory against Barcelona and took us to the last 16 of the CL, the same season- something we could only dream of now.
I mean Efe is Efe and Lustig and Izzy are past their best; but they all did enough here not to be disrespected with a comment like that, mate.

Disrespected? Lol nothing I've said is disrespectful to them. All good servants to the club on their day of course. Referencing them all playing in the Barcelona game from 7 years ago is a bit odd though if you're trying to suggest that that is reason enough for them to be playing for us in 2019. The game, financially and otherwise, has changed a lot since 2012.

People talk about a director of football as if guaranteed to work. Who would we get in? Would they work well with Rodgers? Also I bet many managers would see that position as a put off and taking responsibility they want away from their role

Beating Barcelona doesn’t make you godly and immune to criticism.

Plus it was over 6 years ago. Tells you all you need to know.

I mean it's clear that Rodgers' main strength is in developing talent that is already present. He's so good at getting the best out of players and helping them reach their potential, if the potential is there. If he could focus only on the football side of things with a director of football (assuming he is the right fit) identifying and approaching new targets that would fit in the system, I don't see why it wouldn't be a success. Although I can see your point about it taking responsibility away from the manager and Rodgers does seem to have that bit of a stubborn ego, so he may have objections to it.

A director of football is a position some owner made up to get his mate a job and it’s just became a thing.
