my point remains he's been below his usual best but gets away with cause he's flavour of the month the now. Sinclair has been far better than him for the last few months but people still wanted him punted.

He ‘gets’ away with it because form is allowed to fluctuate, work effort isn’t though. He never hides, he’s never a man short, he puts the required effort in.

The minimum that is required, is to work hard. We will appreciate people who do so.

I don't think Sinclair has hid at all think that's why it's so noticeable when he's having a bad game.

The whole Scottish thing of running about like a headless chicken and putting yourself about has never done that much for me. Not saying it's not useful or doesn't have it's place but it's never made me go wow he's irreplaceable.

That’s where we differ from opinion then, he’s been guilty of running beside people to make it look like he’s moving but not closing down or putting a tackle in, going insdie when the balls outwide in a manner which means he can’t get the pass, standing behind a defender so the ball doesn’t go his way.

His work rate has been shocking at times. If you don’t look like you’re trying, you won’t get the fans backing you. It’s very simple.

Can't say I think he'd do any of that on purpose.

No, either do I but when the head goes down and things aren’t working it can happen naturally. If you put in the required work, which James Forrest does constantly, it doesn’t though.

Because Forrest was guilty of all of that above as well, and he got tore a new one for it as well. He’s the complete opposite now, which is why nobody will ever complain about a very slight dip in form. Which I don’t even really agree he’s having.

    You can't criticise academy players.

Sorry but this is rubbish, Forrest had torrents of abuse ocer the years, McGregor did early on too. The reason people tend not to criticise those two anymore is because they're about as reliable as anyone and are two of our very best players. As is Tierney.

Tierney has been pish in a good few games this season's and never gets any stick. Not that I want players to get stick but there's no doubt certain players get a pass(if not a pass, cur more slack) regardless of how pish they've been

On the flip side it took a long time for people to give McGregor the credit he deserved.

Edit - just noticed Zander already mentioned McGregor. But yeah, if anything I think fans seem to be more critical of academy players, or at least they seem to take longer to win people over for whatever reason. Tierney is an exception as he was brilliant from the get go.

James Forrest is one player who never got away with zip. He has been through the grinder with fans on his back and every last man, myself included, with advice on what he should be doing. This is the first season since his opening season he hasn’t been made scapegoat. James deserves slack for the performances he has been putting in and rightly so. If he wants to take five minutes out to run up and down the pitch playing helicopter with his * then it’s alright by me. He is the hardest worker in the team along with McGregor. And they have to work harder because they are local lads.

Who's fault was that earlier, him or Burke?

Look like both could've left it for the other but was some * up :56:

Both have actually linked up well in the last couple game's and definitely gave us more of a threat when they came on together today..

Burke created the chance himself, Forrest got in the road IMO.
