Likely been mentioned on here loads of times, but Birger Meling from Rosenborg would make a lot of sense. He'd maybe not be happy being back up to Tierney, but with the injury issue he'd now at least be guaranteed to start in the short term.

And not seen much of him, but the other Rosenborg left back, Alex Gersbach, had always been highly rated. Would fit the young/potential angle, and have a couple of compatriots in Rogic and Arzani.

 

Not thrilled about the idea of Micah Richards. A good player if you can get him up & running but he's seemed to be finished for years.
