I would have had McKenna at the central of defence at Ibrox before Boyata. McKenna strolled it there for Aberdeen not that long ago, scored too

Easy to pick individual games and throw a comment in like that. In hindsight Jack Hendry would have been better but who would have chosen Hendry over Boyata before the game?

If you’re asking me, by the same logic, would I prefer Boyata or McKenna going into the Valencia games then it isn’t even a question. If anyone would prefer McKenna get yer heid checked.

That doesn't mean he is good enough though. Efe looked better at Ibrox too. Being better than Boyata should be the minimum requirement for any incoming central defender, not the only one.

There's that Talkceltic anecdotal evidence in full swing again.

McKenna doesn't even have the qualities Ambrose does. He's useless on the ball, agonisingly slow, and isn't good at tackling or marking. If he wasn't young and Scottish, there would be zero interest in him.

And you believe McKenna would play to as high a standard in a Champions League group involving Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak Moscow as Efe Ambrose did? Not a chance imo.
