It doesn't matter at what point of the window we make signings , especially if they have been playing games and are match sharp like Bayo although hopefully that get's concluded soon.Weah and Burke not been playing first team football matches, full games ditto Defoe and Davis for the huns and they're years older.

The worry isn't whether we get players in on day one or the final day. It's the fact that evidence points to us not having spoken to clubs or agents prior to the window starting. We seem to always be chasing ourselves, fighting fires. It is and has been a well known fact we would be needing a CB, a RB and ST. We should have had targets sounded out and ready to go but yet we are caught short every window.

There's quite clearly a significant problem in our transfer dealings somewhere along the process. Firstly; acknowledging squad deficiencies (Brendan), identifying replacements (Congerton/Rodgers), Securing the deals & setting the budget (Lawell /The board). One or all of these areas are letting us down. Which one(s) I don't know but there is a case to be made for each of them.

I honestly believe we haven't even looked at the CB area as needing strengthened and would be shocked if we were to add anyone to this position this window. That tells me Rodgers isn't pushing for it and the never ending quest to have wingers in despite glaring deficiencies in other areas points to Rodgers again. Hayes, Morgan, Hendry, Mulumbu, Sinclair, De Vries, Toure and Musonda are all players Rodgers seems to have had prior knowledge of or seen when we played them and liked the look of, there def on him, you can add McKenna and McGinn to that list as ones he wanted.

Benyu, Compper, Weah, Edouard, Benkovic were all identified under Congerton with Gamboa, Kouassi & Dembele being identified through our scouting team pre Congerton. You can now add Bayo to the former list as well.

Ntcham, Arzani & Roberts through our Man City 'contact'.

Izzy, Bain, Burke I think are guys that agents have offered to us and we've taken up the option.

You could say the board have created the problems in recruitment by the constraints they have set on budget and that is a key factor but I think it's fair to say that the identifying of players has been poor in general, leaving us with a bloated wage bill which im sure is currently hindering our desire for further quality recruits. A large chunk of that blame I'm afraid comes back to Rodgers then Congerton and the scouting team. Their part in this needs to much, much better.

Is Griff going to be back soon? If not I think we should be bringing in a striker who is more established than the young boys we have broought in there. Aye and a RB a good CB and maybe a left winger to replace Sinclair.

The fact he's not at the winter training camp tells you that he won't be in the picture for a while. His health and well-being takes precedence before everything else.

We've had a few months notice to prepare for it. We should have a target list but unfortunately as we know, that doesn't mean we will.

To me left back comes as a priority right now as KT looks to be out for a while. Problem is nobody wants to come in and be his back up.
If we bring in a cb and a lb on top of what we have I will be happy I think

I think with the positions our first three signings cover suggest Rodgers might be looking at returning to a 3-5-2 meaning a RB and LB become redundant, KT can then be a wing back with Izzy and Miller as back up, Forrest the same on the right and from what I can remember he actually seems pretty decent in the role.

If we start seeing coverage of us looking for CB I would say 3-5-2 is the aim.

Are you just guessing or is there a definitive list of who was brought in by who?

    You'll never walk alone
Glad we're doing business early, get some defenders and shift the deadwood and we'll be in a far better position going into the rest of the season, would love a new keeper as well but doubt that'll happen this window.

    Defence come the summer.

    Gordon, Bain
    Tierney, Hayes
    Ralston
    Ajer, Jozo, Bitton, Hendry, Compper

Hopefully we get a 1st choice RB, CB and a backup LB this window, with another CB coming in the summer.

Punt Hendry and Hayes and release Compper.

    Bayo
    Weah
    Burke
    --
    Perez
    Gutman
    Trapp
    Centre half

That would be a pretty reasonable window, covering all necessary positions bar goalkeeper unfortunately.

Even with the defence not touched this is the 1st window since summer 2017 where you could argue we have come out stronger.

I can't see us signing another forward, but it's a very young forward line to be putting our hopes on, hopefully I'm wrong but a bit disappointed so far the two loan guys are more a mystery and here's hoping they are good uns, can't backtrack on my feelings on Burke, never impressed me.

    Need a few Defenders now.

Hopefully start shipping out a few too, preferably sales.

Young forward line let’s look at it in-depth

Edouard - PSG schooling £9m record signing
Griffiths - over 100 goals for Celtic record is a goal every 2 games
Burke - most expensive Scottish player twice over and * rapid
Weah - on loan from PSG and described by a french jurno as PSG most leathal frontman outwith the big 3!
    Bayo - * looks a machine 18 goals and 7 assists in 23 games
Forrest - on fire until the last 3 games there before the break looks knackered
Sinclair - drifts but still got some goals and assist record.

    Would rather that than

    36 year old Defoe
Laughability the * flashing sash basher
Or Harvey price! 20 goals since * June and he is being heralded the complete striker * *!
