Lawwell's transfer budget is a big jar of 50p's and he doesn't release the funds unless Brendan correctly guesses the exact amount in it.

Projects and loanees to bolster our attacking options, ok..

We played this same game in the summer, you get good at reading the signs. This window has the signs written all over it.

    What signs?

Nobody has a clue what business is being done behind closed doors, it’s that simple.

We can’t judge the window until it’s shut.

The soundbites from Brendan, the type of players we’re going after, the type of deals were persuing (loans rather than full transfers), the way Lawwell’s approaching the bids that we are making (sticking it up by £50k was pathetic).

    Signs. All signs.

What’s any of that got to do with not signing a CB?

Brendan isn’t talking about strengthening the defence.

The deals we have prioritised are players in further forward positions, hence going after them first.

Going after loans means we most likely won’t be getting a permanent CB in.

And if we even did go for someone, Lawwell’s negotiations are more likely to * it up as we seen in the summer there with McGinn.

As a fan I wish that we went into this window with all thoughts of projects and potential firmly at the back of the club's mind and instead focused solely on bringing people in that will walk straight into the first team and improve it. Getting fed up of projects that have been very much hit or miss, time for some proven players to take us to 10 in a row.

He’s hardly going to put all his cards on the table.

Wanting forwards doesn’t mean we don’t want defenders. Brendan’s more than aware of our situation there.

If he isn’t looking for anyone and doesn’t sign anyone, maybe he knows something about Boyata resigning.

Boyata isn’t re-signing. That’s already been confirmed. We do want a defender, a right back to be precise but I doubt that’ll happen now because just as in the summer, we did put our eggs all in the one basket with Timothy Castagne and we’ve been priced out.

What exactly about our history in dealing with transfer windows and the way we’ve started going about this window re-assures you that we’re going about our business the way the fans are crying out for?

His agent is trying to get him a move and spouting the usual stuff. It’s not “confirmed” until he signs a contract with another team.

There will be other RB targets and there will be CB targets. Just because you haven’t heard about them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

I never said we would do what the fans want, I said we can’t judge the window until it’s over. If we don’t sign a CB then it’s going to leave a lot of work for the Summer. We won’t sign one if Boyata doesn’t leave this window.

His agent and the club have confirmed we aren’t talking to each other and no deal will be offered to him. So Boyata is leaving. No doubt about it.

Well, in the summer that’s the way we went about it. When we rejected Boyata’s £10m bid with 3 weeks of the window left because there wasn’t enough time to find a replacement we had no contingency plans despite absolutely needing a CB to come in as we were playing Jack Hendry in our most important games of the season.

You’re faith in the board and Lee Congerton’s scouting ability is admirable but majorly misplaced. You’re hoping that we are doing business like a normal, well run club. However we have showed that we aren’t.

At what point have I showed faith in the board and Congerton?
