You don’t have to but it means if he does really well we are very likely to be priced out of a move.

Whereas if we agree a fee before he joins we have a much better chance.

We need a fresh approach in attack and he might provide it. With Arzani out for the season, it makes sense. It’s really, really simple.

And there's no other player in the world we could target for a fresh approach other than the guy who can't get a game for West Brom?

There's a fair chance he's been brought in to play through the middle. He's played there for Scotland u21's and has a strongish build. Our 2 striker reinforcements could be Burke and Weah on short term loans. Wouldn't be surprised folks.

We need a fresh approach; but if he's not good enough for West Brom, why is he good enough for us?

Of course, but that would depend on them wanting to come here, whether or not we wanted to invest heavily in a position we’ve already invested in a fair bit and whether or not his club would let him go.

The “can’t get a game for West Brom” bit is a weird stick to beat him with too. He clearly has some ability and if he was their first choice he wouldn’t be with us now. Unlikely we’ll go out and sign anyone outside of Scotland, who is a club’s first choice player and who’s also good enough for our first team almost immediately.

Players not getting a game at their current club doesn’t always make them a bad player.

Looks at the general consensus and takes the opposing view. Who would have thunk it! Or you're just really easily pleased. Anyone who can't see this as utterly underwhelming and after all the nonsense of the summer window as down right insulting to the support is at it as far as I'm concerned.

Is it? it's the club he was at where he couldn't get a game. It would almost be strange not to mention it?

Formed my opinion that he’d be a decent acquisition before he signed. You can continue to be a snide * all you want but it doesn’t make your point of view any stronger.

Don’t care how insulting you think it is, we needed something new in attack and he could bring it. I haven’t at any point said I’m over the moon with this, I think he could be a good player for us.

Yeah, but typically players who sign for us and hit the ground running aren't players incapable of breaking into a West Brom side where they're kept out of the team by Matt Phillips and Hal Robson-Kanu. And as it's a 6-month loan with no option to buy, he needs to hit the ground running or it's pointless.

    We'll see though.

The most disappointing thing about him for me is that his beard never quite lived up to some decent young potential.
Theres definite growth there you can clearly see it but always looks very fluffy and not quite fully groomed. Always seems like he has a chin strap if you look closely.
Ah well, 6 months to help him sort it.

My mate who supports Albion, is surprised he hasn’t featured more. The actual club clearly want him back. It’s not as if he’s not rated and Albion are ready to discard him at the earliest opportunity. He might prove to be a waste of time, but at this stage, I’d say he has the ability to be a good player for us, while he’s here. Up to him to deliver when given the chance, now.
