Nationality itself is more complex than where you are born. Rice holds both a British and Irish passport, I assume he identifies with both. His commitment during underage games certainly suggests he is very proud of his Irishness.


I also find this belittling of Australia and the Asian Cup to be incredibly embarrassing, even as someone who can't abide Australians and hope the * get beaten in every game they play in every sport.
