He'll be missed especially as he'd have been playing against Ryan Jack and maybe Coulibaly or McCrorie or all 3 whos are the type of big diddies he'd have ripped the pish out of for fun.

But his form for the past 5/6 times hes played over the last 2 months hasn't been too good, he's lost a yard of sharpness and keeps being caught on the ball when he used to be able to sneak it away from guys no bother, dont know what injury he has if its been preventing him from training but he hasn't looked 100%.

 

Not just saying this because he's unavailable, but I'd of played brown instead against the huns and moved McGregor slightly further even if he was available . Still a loss.

 

He has no choice in the matter, if he doesn't go they will just invoke the rule meaning he can't play on the 29th. They have a warm up friendly on the 30th, so it's within their rights to do so, regardless of how * it is for us.

I was surprised at this too but I remember reading into it when Ribery wanted to quit France and Platini said he couldn’t.

If I remember correctly, you must play for your country if you’re called upon and you’re a pro footballer, otherwise you’ll be banned from pro football. Retiring from international football and still playing at club level is only a gentleman’s agreement between the country and the player.

 

So what about players who refuse call ups?
