    :fear:

Under Rodgers he's found a completely new level. 2/3 years ago he was inconsistent as *. And when he was bad he was really bad.

Inexperienced players eh? Who’d have thought they’d be inconsistent.

    Real shocker that.

There's absolutely no denying Rodgers has done wonders for him.

Before Rodgers joined, McGregor had played over 100 matches (us and Notts County). He had talent but he'd be good one game then murder the next couple. There's a reason plenty of people, obviously myself included, didn't think he was good enough.

CALLUM McGregor extended his stay at Celtic Parkuntil the summer of 2023 when he signed a new contract today (Thursday), and he's now looking forward to winning more silverware and making new memories for the Paradise faithful.

Having joined the Celtic Youth Academy at just nine-years-old, the midfielder’s latest deal will see him remain at the club into his 30s. He described Celtic as all he’s ever known, and praised the fans for the incredible support each week.

“I’m absolutely delighted to sign until 2023,” McGregor told the official Celtic website. “It was all pretty smooth. The club gave me a call and I was desperate to get it done straight away.

“The gaffer has been brilliant with me, too, and there was no question on my mind that I wanted to sign straight away and get it done. I’ve got to thank the club for that, it was very seamless, and of course, I've got to thank the manager as well.”

The 25-year-old acknowledged the huge part Celtic has played in his life to this point, and underscored his desire to commit his biggest years to the club. McGregor reckons he owes much of his recent successes to Brendan Rodgers, and is keen to add to his ever-impressive trophy collection.

“Since the manager has come in, my game has improved an awful lot," he said. "That’s due to him coming in, changing a few things, and getting me playing with confidence. In the last 18 months, I think I’ve been able to emerge as a bigger character. I just want to keep doing that, keep learning every day, and continue becoming a better player for this club.

“At Celtic there’s a massive demand to win, and, coming through the system, you’ve got to be a winner. That’s a massive part of it – the fact that you want to win things as a professional footballer. Celtic is the best platform for that.

“This is an amazing place to play football, and the fans are amazing. Celtic Park is one of the best arenas in world football, and the fans are amazing. To actually get to play your football here every second Saturday is an incredible thing.

"For the fans, it’s just about me trying to be here for as long as I can, and trying to give them some special moments.”

He has done wonders with him, nobody would deny that. He just started hitting his stride end of Ronny’s era then Rodgers just completely took that to a new level.

Always say with players the penny seems to really drop around 150 games or so, thats when they seem to really hit their stride and kick on.

Some interview that too. Not got a big ego for such a talented player and he's still relatively young. Bit early to be comparing him with McStay, but not totally out of the question if he continues to improve.
