Yes counting calories. I was being a tad facetious and I disagree cardio is the most effective way to build a deficit.

A mixture of HIIT and low intensity ie steep incline walk.

Lifting weights doesn’t burn much calories at all but as your muscles grow so does your TDEE

Edit: of course it all doesn’t matter if you aren’t in a deficit

Used to get the chicken * from it but sometimes you would get them and they would smell a bit funky.

For the sake of a couple of quid more I can get 5kg of chicken breast from a local farms butcher shop.

Tried it again this morning, * me man why is it so hard going?

Was 10 mins in and felt like I couldn’t breathe!

My cardio has really taken a nose dive over the last year, I used to park up the truck at nights and blast through 10ks 3-4 times a week no bother.

Been smashing the gym 4-5 times a week for the last few weeks and been eating clean also. Majorly needed after drinking beer and eating whatever I wanted for 3 weeks on holiday.

Finally got a shot of one of those bod analysis machines in the gym. Metabolic rate if 23, not bad for a 30yr old who hates cardio lol

My excuse, at least what I tell myself, is that as I’m such a unit it’s hard going shifting my 100kg frame up and down over and over again :giggle1: and I’m still sore from leg day

I choose to ignore the fact I’m just not very fit

    Mon the weights!

Me too, but I've eaten a ton of junk at the cinema tonight and am vegetating on the sofa. So it won't be happening tonight. :giggle1:

So had my first proper weights session yesterday morning since the 1st of November

And like a true * decided let’s hammer legs.

Done squats, that went ok didn’t go too heavy then done 4x20 standing calf raises with around 60kg on the smith machine.

Then likes proper * done 4x20 on the seated calf raises with 113kg on it.

Yesterday and most of today was fine but after sitting around at my maws all day I’m typing this now literally unable to straighten my legs :giggle1: my calves have completely seized up and can hardly walk

Steppers and that seem to be one of these things where you get better more you do it. Seen it when I started climbing more hills endurance quickly increases. You go to a popular hill such as Ben A'Aan which is a short sharp pull to the summit, many will do a fast time just through general fitness.

Go across and do Ben Venue other side of loch katrine which is a longer day, or an all day hillwalking, they will struggle and take ages to recover. I also found I get a second wind quite dramatically after the initial 10-15 minutes which are tough.

The more you do it the more your body will adapt to find more efficient ways of retaining energy and technique improvements will enable less effort etc.

Been hitting the gym twice a day now, diet has been 90% spot on. Seeing some good progress, unfortunately I’ve hit that groove too late with Christmas and a 3 week holiday coming up.

Anyway done Seth Feroces arm workout earlier

Arms were super pumped, veins popping out of everywhere.

Love his videos, well worth the watch he really tells it how it is and has some great tips and goes in-depth about technique and how hand placements can change an exercise so much.
