Been superb in that new role, was wondering how this euro game would suit him, after a few dodgy balls I was thinking oh no, but came onto a brilliant display yet again in this role.

As said I don't believe from a defensive play he has that ball winning attribute, but he has the play just moving so quick and most definitely in Scotland this is what we need.

Did you not class him winning the ball plenty of times the other night again as a ball winning attribute?

I'm not saying he can never win a ball, but I don't believe it's in his makeup. Take for example when the guy was breaking through the middle, didn't have enough strength to pull him down, and let's be honest Tom Rogic who I can't say is a defensive player certainly knew what to do when they had a possible dangerous break by the looks of it and shoulda been booked.

With the personnel we have at the moment and movement we have he has been exceptional and his ability to move the ball around makes him perfect for the role.

Was at the Hearts game last week, first time at Parkhead all year and his improvement is mad. Every pass was class, even 2 years ago wouldn't have thought he'd turn out this good.

I think he means when he gave the foul away late on 10 metre in Celtic half.

Yep, he has come such a long way in a short time. Scored vital goals when it really mattered during invincible run..

Leipzig nearly scored from it. Callum should've cleaned your man out and taken a yellow near the half way line but your man shrugged the challenge off.

Only thing he lacks is the physical side of things, wont be surprised if Livingston go in to try and bully him tomorrow, that’ll be a good test. For that side I think his football brain is too good and knows how to find space, but it’s when defending againdt big guys he struggles.

Though in saying that he done brilliant to get in front of Bruma 1st half when he was sprinting into the box with the ball.

Think Tierney will need to take McGregor in to the Gym with him to build him up a bit sometimes he gets pushed of the ball a bit too easily

Don’t think they’ll get near him most of the time. He’ll be too quick for them.

I literally couldn’t tell you a single time I’ve seen McGregor pushed off the ball too easily. Going back years.

Where do you get this from? Of course it can be in his make up with the right training. He hasn't actually played so many games in that position. Did you think Paul Lambert had it in his make up to be one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe when he was at St Mirren?

I don't get this attitude of some our fans. It's one thing to say that player X isn't good at Y; it's quite another, requiring a different line of argument entirely, to claim that they don't have it in their makeup. For example Messi will never match Ronaldo at headers: why? Because he isn't currently that good at them? No, that means nothing. Messi can learn pretty much anything. Because he is very short? Bingo. Kris Boyd will never be a CB: why? Because he has always been * useless at the defensive side of things? No, that means nothing. He might be capable of learning the necessary skills. Because he is a poor athlete who has never shown the slightest interest in improving the defensive side of his game unless forced? Bingo.

CM is still learning the defensive side of the game (e.g. his hesitation last night gave Kayal that opening goal); but I have no doubt he will become very good at the defensive side if he plays enough games in a deeper role. He is far too intelligent a player not to. Me personally, I've been saying for years that I think he'd be outstanding in that role.

CM: “To come here we need to be positive but we know how hard it’s going to be.”

CM: “Another big week for us. But we need to have a strong mindset going into these 2 games.

CM: "They're a good side with a good squad. It's down to us preparing properly and it doesn't matter what team they go for."

CM: “You can see with the goals and scorelines that the boys stacking have been great.”

CM: “The Cup final takes care of itself. It’s important for us to take one game at a time.”

Absolutely outstanding tonight, doesn’t waste a single pass.

I genuinely believe he could play for the very best team on the go just now and not look out of place, his style of play would suit them all down to a T.
