why does it have to be a big name ? big names are likely to cost 2 to 3 million a year

any manager at a lot of winners and runners up at some of europes leagues could win our league with celtic and probably get better performances in europe

Sorry to say it because he has a brilliant domestic record, but he hasny got a clue in Europe.

Rodgers has been domestically brilliant for Celtic but there are two black marks against his name:

1. Has had 2 years to put a solid defence together and has failed miserably. Not helped by bizarre signings like Hendry and Compper.

2. Very poor in Europe, embarrassingly so at times. The first point has a lot to do with this.

 

With a Rodgers team when it clicks there is nothing to match it attacking wise that's why he's the best man for the job.
some people talking about dull managers like moyes , lennon and clarke sure they might get the odd backs to the wall result in europe but the highs and entertainment factor wont be so thrilling over the course. look what rodgers has done ffsk first season is some of the best football i have even seen and last season was a bit patchy but we did it when it mattered again and he has not just beaten the huns hes humiliating them.

 

Lenny not a dull manager (have you seen Hibs recently?) but liked for everything else.

 

Lenny wasn’t a dull manager when he was here and he’s certainly not since he’s left. Hibs regularly give us our most open, attacking, end to end games.

His football still didn't match Rodgers

 

That’s because Rodgers is a much higher calibre of manager. His methods, training and the way he deals with players will be a level or 2 above anybody in Scotland. For all his shortcomings in Europe he’s still an elite manager.

Lennys by far the best in Scotland outwith Brendan though.

 

If the time ever comes when Rodgers does leave we should be aiming high again and make them the most paid person at the club because they are the most important and the proof is there for all to see last couple of seasons.

 

I don't know about that, definitely not by far. Steve Clarke deserves a * load of credit

Clarke has done well but I think his style would fail at Celtic. The fans would get * off.
