    Biggest problem at the club right now, by some way.

    And I can’t see how it falls at the feet of the board. Brendan and that riddy Congerton have to take the blame for it imo.

    Not much cash spent there really.. I'm not saying he's blameless.. but I'm taking about proper investment.

    Edouard, Ntcham & Sinclair are the only real significant cash spent on quality.

    Aye:

    De Vries
    Gamboa
    Hendry
    Compper
    Eboué
    Benyu
    Arzani
    Musonda
    Hayes

    Why should the board trust someone with such an abysmal track record in the transfer market?

    And going by the Salzburg team, big money doesn’t always guarantee quality if your scouting isn’t up to scratch.

    At least nine of his signings have contributed exactly nothing to our football club.

    Rodgers handpicked his own head of recruitment - I would guess at a considerable expense to the club - so he is absolutely responsible for our disastrous recruitment policy and obscene wage bill.

    He has arguably only made five signings of real value in five transfer windows - three of them in the first transfer window.

    We're at the time where we need most investment in the squad and the same time we cant trust the manager with funds.

    Arzani was supposed to be a replacement for Roberts. We knew that Roberts was leaving at the end of last season months in advance. It is now almost November, and Arzani is yet to kick a ball in anger. He missed all of the Champions League qualifying rounds, and it is now almost certainly too late for him to affect our Europa League campaign. That is poor recruitment.

    Benyu? Granted. The rest were all experienced footballers and/or brought to the club for millions of pounds in loan or transfer fees, signing bonuses, wages, etc.

    Brendan Rodgers on the #BetfredCup semi-final: "It's set up to be a fantastic game. It will be a unique game at Murrayfield and we're looking forward to it."

    BR on the atmosphere: "We're used to a great atmosphere to be fair [at Celtic Park]. It is an iconic stadium which will make for a fantastic spectacle

    BR on injuries: "
    @SimunovicJozo
    and
    @Cris_GamboaCR
    will go for scans today so we will get a better assessment of them. We're hopeful
    @Tom_Rogic
    will be ready for Sunday."

    BR: "This is why we have a competitive squad. Christie, Morgan and Kouassi all came in last night with little game time and did well."

    BR on player's hunger to win trophies: "At any top club you're judged on what you put in the trophy cabinet. So we want to continue to do that and work in a way which entertains the fans

    Ok. I didnt understand why you had to point out that particular fact when all i said was "neil lennon had done a bit more in the champions league than simply beating barcelona". This was pointed out to a poster who claimed that was the only thing Lennon had done of any note in Europe.

    ----------------

    Lol.

    If it's that competitive why are they being played so sparingly?

    Also in Kouassi's last 4 starts we've failed to win any of the games (RB Leipzig, Hearts, Zenit, St. Johnstone)

    Honestly starting to see through his *.

    Those players (possibly only with the exception of Morgan) were starting purely because he HAD to use them.

    Not because he wanted to or because he thought they were good enough.

    Well guess what, HE'S not * good enough.

    We did invest, that's the issue. We invest in crap, due to several reasons. First is relying too much on players on the payroll of a EPL team, where obviously the market is inflated the most. We could do * of a fantastic job by looking towards Eastern Europe, for example, and at the same time have a better team and spend LESS, as Salzburg did.

    If this wasn't enough, this team got beaten by Red Star on the aggregate. A team massively inferior to us. The only player good enough for us they have is the right back, who, I seriously think we should bid after but won't. Our signings are usually unimaginative because the scouting department is incompetent, therefore we have to pay the premium of paying more for players from the neighbouring country where information is more easily available. We have the money, and didn't spend such a low amount as people think. *, we were prepared to fork 3,5 million on McKenna. It's mostly a matter of competence.

    St Johnstone aside, these are arguably the two strongest opponents we had this year and the hardest domestic game, which is Hearts away. Quite funny he only plays a guy he publicly stated being "surplus to our requirements" in the hardest games possible.

    Not expecting him to come out and say they're heavy * but don't try and tell us black is white.

    Strachan used to pull that stunt when you had watched us play the most turgid football ever for a 1-1 draw at Hamilton and he'd tell you about how wonderful the performance was.

    In Rodgers first season and the beginning of last we could rotate the team and our performances & results were pretty much unaffected. eg. comfortable 2-0 away win to Kilmarnock last season in August when we started with a back 4 of Ralston, Tierney, Ajer, Miller and also flung in Benyu from the start.

    Now we can't. Take any of Broony, Forrest, Rogic or McGregor out of the team and we very often struggle.

    The squad is filled with guys that are either disinterested or nowhere near good enough. The complete opposite of a competitive squad.
