It’s a bad day when a former manager is more positive about our team than our current manager...

Hey even if we lost we would get a good laugh from his post match interviews.

I think he will be back one day, but I'd rather we did the ten with rodgers. He has unfinished business, that first season must haunt him, it was in our grasp and we * it at Inverness.. he'll be back one day, without a doubt..

'if' it ever came to it I would take him back in an instant.....however we would probably get gazumped by a better offer from MK Dons or similar.

That's our main problem right there.....the current board!!

Speaking about him another thread and sorry if it’s been answered before but did we ever figure out what the fallout was between Lennon and Thompson, and how are their terms now?

Wondered that myself. I think it might have been a drink problem and Thompson letting him down too many times. Hope they're still pals.

Anyone else reckon that Lennon with Deila as his number 2 would have worked a * treat here? Like it was supposed to be

    A perfect balance

Doubt it. Would’ve been good cop bad cop but Collins was the good cop to Ronny’s ‘bad’ and they both failed.

Lennon can’t and won’t manage without mjallby/Parker or someone he really trusts in his corner. Especially when he spends a good 5 games a season in the stands :56:

I don't think deila would have lasted long under Lenny tbh. Approach the game different. Looks like they approached coaching differently. Relationship with the players themselves are world's apart.

Just don't think they would have gelled well at all.

Then, I might be wrong. We will never know

Always get the impression that some of that 'negative' side was more from Collins. The intense dietry stuff, the regimental and cold nature of it.
Found Deila to be more like Rodgers to be honest. His style of football is more like that, his intensity to closing down and attacking. Think it could have worked quite well as something that would have complemented Lennon and his slightly more assured defensive approach.

    Really?

I got the relationship completely backwards then. Tend to see that Collins was the more 'bad' cop and regimental about stuff. Then Deila was bringing in a style of play and a new coaching/Euro style to it all. Figured Deila was more the one to probably have been overwhelmed by the size, he was eyed up to be the Asst Manager, so it was a big sudden step up and Collins was thrown on him - can see him being a little more allowing to Collins harder stance on things and falling in line.

From my reading of it Ronny was a nice guy at heart but tried to be harsh so the players respected him. Ultimately backfired massively. The new diet, playing a certain style all the time etc was Ronnie’s doing. John was always smiling, calm, seemed like the nice guy players could talk to behind the scenes. Of course he was also a native which helped massively.

It’s known that Collins is an arrogant *. I firmly believe he was behind a lot of the * that went on.

Just a perfect storm - a rookie out his depth and a know it all....what could possibly go wrong!?

    Can't argue with you there.

However at least Collins had some, a lot actually, of pedigree from his playing career. That i'm sure gave him a bit of clout in the dressing room. Assistant being more respected than the boss is never gonna end well.

Him and Lennon could have possibly worked now I think about it but him and Deila was a match made in *.

He has proved himself to be a very good and very reliable manager. When the Celtic job becomes available again Neil Lennon will suffer from the same fate that Scottish/Irish Celtic players do, the fans would rather give praise and sing about a average foreigner than a superb homegrown player like James Forrest. Many Celtic fans will dismiss Neil Lennon when the job becomes available when I very much doubt there will be a better option.

Can't see that happening after our last non Irish or Brit manager.
