I think that's a possibility, knowing next season we go into the quals 2 CB's down.

Dont see us going out and spending decent money on a CB while Boyata and Benkovic are on the books, more likely a Boyata sale in Jan will facilitate that.

If he continues in the same vein as his first 2 showings he will be a huge player for us and you never know might get another extended loan similar to Roberts.

Tbh mate, I don't think that would be acceptable, given the summer window we've had.

For me, Boyata must not be sold in January (even if he signs a pre-contract and we end up getting nothing) and another decent defender must come in regardless.

The reality is, despite all these delusional claims from Lawwell and his bootlickers, that we're a 'well run club', the evidence actually points to the contrary.

It should never have got to this situation in the first place.

we just sold Moussa for 20m , Brendan must see at least 10 of that in january or its unnaceptable it wont buy Benkovic outright but we can strengthen in other key areas.

The difference he makes is insane.

Ajer has done fantastic, but you can tell who is the more natural CB between Ajer and Benkovic.

Surely it can't be that hard someone like him that we can sign on a perm.

Can’t see that happening, Morgan is coming to the end of his career in the top flight for Leicester and this lad could be his replacement.

We need to spend good money on a good young right back and another midfielder on a 4/5year deal in january scouted.
Depending on what happens with Boyata we can maybe keep him and Benkovic together we would be fine in defense and going into next season otherwise we will need to bring in a CB too in January.

I think Boyata and benkovic will be gone so we need at least 1 more cb in Jan and another in before next seasons qualifiers

There is no chance whatsoever that we will be offered anything like £10 million for a guy that can be signed on a pre-contract and become their player 6 months down the line.

I reckon we would/could still get in excess of £6 - maybe 7m, don't see him going for less, especially if still in a title race.

Stranger things have happened in today’s market but I’d honestly be amazed.

He’ll be key for Europe in next to Boyata, hopefully no more injuries. Takes the pressure off Ajer as well so hopefully he learns from them both and he’ll be our main man next season.

Why would someone pay 6/7 million for a guy they can get on a free?

If a club are willing to wait until next summer, fine, if not, they will have to pay.

If Fulham come back in and are looking to secure their EPL status, they'll do what all EPL clubs do - Throw money at it.

There's every chance we go into the window with an attitude that you pay what we want or wait until next season.

Unless it's a team desperate to shore up their defence I can't see us getting any more than £2/3 million and to be honest if it's any less than that he's not worth selling if we haven't put a good bit of distance between ourselves and the rest in the league.

We got £900k for Ledley who left on the last day of the transfer window to a Premiership team. So based on that we'd be doing well to get a few million.

By all accounts we've * it for ourselves. Had we been ran competently the recruitment team would've identified a list of available options in addition to Schar. Had we got 1 in then Boyata could've went to Fulham for £9 million and the whole spitting the dummy out debacle would've been avoided.

That's the way I see it, don't see us letting him go for 2/3 mil especially if still in some sort of title race. And by "Bulk" I don't think it's unrealistic that a Fulham would hand over £6m in Jan, if still interested and precariously placed.

Club has moved a long way since Ledley left to be fair, £10m was our ceiling for under contracted top players back then!

Boyata has just come out of Russia with a good rep and a bronze medal, his stock is high, currently our POTY as mad as that sounds!

If he is going for free then a lot more clubs will be interested and more choice for him.
