    His interview was embarrassing.

He clearly would rather be anywhere else :giggle1:

Those 2 I would give you but they're both book-ended by rotten performances in the next game against them.

Anderlecht was a good result but we were slightly fortunate their striker had an off day. Although we were still well worth our win.

Zenit we played well but as you say we were playing against a team that had been out of competitive football for 3 months. The following week we bomb out playing like a scared group of boys that have already accepted their fate.

I'm fed up of this defeatist, accepting pish. Managers in the Scottish League manage to set teams up against us in the belief they will get a result (see Clarke's 2 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses v Brendan) despite them having a much inferior budget.

What would Clarke manage with the squad we have :fear:

While I agree, I also think he doesn't have good players at his disposal. I have no idea how much of that is his fault.

If you were Salzburg or a team like them, who would you take from our squad? Ajer, KT, Rogic, Ntcham, Mulumbu, Eddy. That's the end of my list. At peak form the rest of them still aren't good enough for me, not in Europe.

We need a major clear out and a major rethink of what actually counts as a quality footballer - because it isn't just the next wee guy that tears up the SPFL one year. We buy players for the league and hope they play well in Europe. It's backwards. We should buy players good enough for Europe and stroll the league by default because of it.

    I completely agree..

On the face of it, win wise...it's clutching..

We're just honestly a * side. I genuinely believe that and have been saying it for a while. The majority of our squad. Our style of play. Tempo. Our depth. The way we cannot defend. Our creativity and lack of slick, 1 touch play and invention. Set pieces. The amount of hiders and shitebags. The way we're too honest and don't ever roll about or moan to officials like every other * but accept being bitched..

We're rank rotten in many many departments..

I'm not vindicating us picking Clarke as next manager but he sure as * wouldn't have went out playing 4-4-2 in the 2nd half tonight when we were struggling to retain possession and get up the park.

Rodgers is an uncompromising idealist that fails to understand the realities of our limitations despite watching them happen time and time again

We're as far away now from being a solid European team as we were when he first took over.

This is honestly the truth. Baffles me how it’s fallen apart and the level of our decline so * quick. After invincible treble it was obvious we’d never top that.. but the transfers, style of play, character in the team, squad depth, and european performances have all gone to absolute *

I know you weren't mate, I don't think pretty much anyone would have done that for the second half tbh.
At times we dont look so hot domestically either.
Anyway you should be drinking that fine Austrian beer and trying to get into big Helga's pants by now ffs :crazy3: ... or wondering what he (clarke) would achieve :86:

Haha, everyone's called it a day in here more or less. Big old guy talking to us had some patter...

"you're a young * you should be up telling that Claudia on the bar that you love her...get her up to the room....when I was your age I was getting a bird a night at least....sometimes 2 birds a night"

Every time the wee Austrian maw from the bar walks by he's giving it.."oooft, she's goat some farter eh?"

At present there are similarities of what is going on at Man U and at our club. Is it the managers, players or board? Or is it a mixture of all 3? Something needs to go

Just depressing now. Sadly he doesn’t know anything about European Football. Dreadful signings make for crap performances! Lennon and Strachan were light years more equipped mentally to cope with the job with spending less on transfers!

He seemed to know enough to get us to qualify for the CL two seasons in a row.

100% correct. The part in bold especially. Agree with that list of players as well. Who knows, maybe this will serve as a wake up call. I doubt it though

he doesn't want to be here and that is pretty clear to most now. His massive ego wants to go back into the premier league and work at a top 6 club. I think everyone could see as soon as we scored that it would be a long night, how are the players expected to only defend and chase the ball about the park for 90 minutes ? Gutless tactics. Been 3 years and he still doesn't know his best players, let alone a formation. Deila got a 2-2 draw with a team that cost less and salzburg were better back then too (the likes of Soriano and Alan were better than any player they currently have).

They were pressing for an equaliser and that's when you want to do them on a counter, not your full backs punting the ball out of the park because they have 0 options to aim at. You could see by half time almost all of our players were out of breath and had no energy left. Our weakness in the squad is obsvously defence so the last thing you want to do is rely on it to win you a game. We played Anderlecht off the park the other year there and haven't seen a performance in Europe like that since. The best form of defence is attack, and as cringe/cliche as it sounds it couldn't ring any truer about our team. He literally treated Salzburg like they were Barcelona, can only imagine what he has planned against Leipzig.

Don't know how to defend a lead in europe , if the defense does its job .
Same faces in it though in lustig and hendry who are not good enough when we all knew we need fresh blood. although conceding the 3 goals away from home in europe is the usuall for most celtic managers.

Edouard scores a peach and we close that game out 0-1 almost 0-2 he's the hero , fickle fans.

We would have still lost had we went in at the break 2-0, don't kid yourself.

They where a good outfit and will go far in the Europa again this season.
If we could learn to defend we might have dug out a result there at least a draw at half time it was job done same again. but they have not been beat at home for 2 years. 17 points ahead of rapid who looked a shadow of the team we faced so a wee bit of perspective.
