If he were to leave then Lenny would come in and you know what, a bit of Lenny's bite wouldn't do us any harm.

I'm beginning to think that too.

Surely he knows though that he can't walk away at a point like this.

It would look bad in a whole manner of ways. Particularly if he was to leave as soon as he wasn't having things all his own way.

Admittedly the board have * him off, clearly, but he has to show some fight.

Those stats since January are a serious worry. There's effectively not been a winning mentality for over 9 months.

The blame can be spread all over the shop but the board's lack of investment is the main issue. Also far from ideal is the horrendous signing of players such as Hendry.

And to put it in persepective those stats are with Hibs being newly promoted who signed their front 3 in that January window.

Killie who Steve Clarke took over when they were bottom of the league and certs for relegation.

The Huns who had the worst home record in 100 years last season or whatever and had their worst start in 30 years this season. While being managed by two rookies. Sevco blah blah.

I think it’s obvious he wants out but won’t go as he’ll want paid up.

I don't think the board will be upset if he goes. He's on massive money and they are tight as *. They were basically forced into appointing him and if we'd beat Rangers in the semi final and Ronny had still left, there is absolutely no way they'd have went out and got him.

By all accounts, Desmond's ego was responsible for bringing him in after being embarrassed in the directors box at the semi

For the first time in a while, i am concerned about us playing. I generally thought the rangers game was a turn in our play and the St Mirren game was a blip, but we scored from atrocious defending yesterday. The game probably would of went our way had Benkovic played but there's no excuse for our lack of goals, and it's amazing how we haven't fixed it. Rodgers won't be sacked unless we lose the league and that's understandable, he deserves time, but a loss to st Johnstone or Aberdeen and, for he first time since he's here, people might start thinking about it. IMO he has to win the next 4 games in the league (+ the st Johnstone game) for things to settle.

By embarrassed you mean having to listen to that fat * Gilligan singing the famine song. We got Rodgers because Desmond wanted him yes but it wasn’t about any ego.

Rodgers isn't fully to blame, the players have to take some * responsibility, their heads seemingly have went down and not working as hard during games. Our high team press is gone and it's only 1 man press, Rodgers has shown how he wants us to play and if the players can't keep that up then he needs to get them the * out of the team.

Also for context this was after a January transfer window that Rodgers stated that he 'got everything he asked for'.

“Today I have to say a big thank you to Dermot, Peter and the board at Celtic. January was going to be an important month for us and everything I asked for I was able to get.

“In terms of experience, quality and players we think we can develop, they delivered everything I wanted so it’s a great credit to them and our recruitment team.”

Next few games will tell us a lot, we need to rethink how we're doing things.. teams are happy to sit deep and let us have the ball which negates a lot of our philosophy..
Two strikers must be tried imo..

He contradicts himself with the "quality over quantity" spin. He signed
    DeVries
    Gamboa
    Hendry
    Commper
    Kouassi
    Benyu
    Hayes

For the most part I would say yes, but I would say that for every manager who has been treated the same, Lennon is usually a good example where his quality of signing from his first season to his last is almost similar to Rodgers in terms of the dip in quality year by year.

It's hard for me to properly explain but for me this a pattern that has happened with every manager since MON when Lawwell joined and for me it hints at a far bigger issue at the club. The managers aren't always faultless but every season they are given a harder job to do from the board where they are being asked to keep up the same rate of success whilst losing their best players and replacing them with guys that aren't good enough.

If Rodgers was to leave at the end of the season and we brought in someone of similar status I bet you'd see this all start again, big fanfare, suddenly spending fair sums of money and getting decent players in, finding another deal like a Ledley or Dembele, then as the seasons go by they will be sold and the likes of players at the standard of Hendry will be brought in and be expected to carry on where the previous players left off.

    Another wee irk.

Getting fed up of the sentence “we’ve shown over the last two years” / “what this team has done over the last two years” etc etc

Aye, and they’ve been given their medals, the trophies are on the trophy room, we know.

Mon Brendan!! :ynwacelti Let’s live in the now! :brendy:

Sooooooo..... What your saying is, we're * pish? :56:

Argued this before and told i was being a * but you cannot live on past glories. You will get stuck in the past with your old tatty pictures of what you used to have while someone or something new will be winning what you should.
Every season we start with nothing. No treble. No unbeaten record. No points. No prizes. You have to go out and take them.
