Read the game so well last night, so his positioning for tackles was spot on, unbeatable in the air, can ping a pass and is just an all round beast of a defender.

If I'm to be depressing then come next season trying to replace that even after one season if he continues and Boyata gives me the fear.

My concern about him doesn't stem from his ability, we are in a situation where we could very well be looking at a CB pairing of him and Boyata for the bulk of the season if, as I suspect, we revert to a back 4. We are going to be losing both of them at the end of this season (if not sooner with Boyata), which means going into the qualifiers with Ajer, Hendry and Jozo who will have played little football (not that I want to see Hendry and Jozo play). A season long loan deal for this guy was just the wrong move, we need to be planning further ahead as the qualifiers are so important to us.

My one hope is that we have aleady identified replacements and need until January to get them in and he is a stop gap, but realistically what are the * chances of that? I also suspect there is no chance of us getting him for longer, Leicester will be wanting him back, or to make a profit on their £13m. Even if they don't they will probably hold on to him until near the end of their transfer window before making a loan decision, by which point will be several rounds of qualifiers in. To be clear I have no issue with the player, I think he looks impressive, it's just a sad situation where I am worried about a defender playing well as it could screw us in the long term, none of which is his fault.

Beast, wont everything in the air and has good pace about him. Got more confident on the ball throgh the game as well, a lot more first time passes instead of like Lustig, 3 touches then pass back.

I wonder with this guy in the team if Rodgers would maybe think of moving Ajer into midfield which was his original position. With Armstrong away were still short of a midfielder
