    Some talent.

No way would I start him at the weekend though, especially against Tavernier.

I hope his game time is not cut when the loan lad from city is fully fit.

    Give him a run Brendan..

On the left or in the hole the odd time. Doesn't always pay off but he's exciting and goes for it from the off..

We look more of a threat with him in the side. Morgan as well when back..

Crying out for freshening the side up..

He brings much needed energy and creativity to the side. Guys like him and Morgan (and Arzani eventually) need to be given much more of a run in the team.

I quite like him. He's got the typical flaws a young winger normally has, but he's got something about him.

Considering we've looked a bit short of ideas in the final third, he might be a good player to chuck in from time-to-time. He loses the ball, but he has the confidence to keep trying things and he's a wee bit unpredictable. Agree with @CalgaryBhoy that he and Morgan could be useful players for us, and could give the team a bit of a lift.

Has a fair bit of improving to do before he can be a starter but you can see the ability is there.

Played with his old man at 5's, and he was a bit of a player. Hopefully the wee man gets a bit of game time now he's in and around the first team squad. It's the only way we'll see his potential. Looked dangerous tonight.

He’s at the stage where he needs to be given a run of games or he’ll become another nearly talent.

Ronny flung KT into massive games and played him consistently, Johnston needs to be given a chance now.

Agreed but what has James done to deserve being dropped? I’d like to see the young lad get a chance but so many games often James has been the one making it tick. He’s a direct player - whereas mikey is a classic winger. Tough choices for Brendan

With Mcgregor clearly not being a winger and Sinclair past it, i think Johnston could easily make that LW position his own this season. Has flair that a lot of our current players lack.

Doesn't have to be the right. We don't have a left winger on form..

    Johnston's most natural position..

I'd play him on the left against kilmarnock.

You can see he is lacking in areas but the only way he’ll get better is to play and play in the big games as well.

He has a proper wingers gallus streak which will stand him in good stead.

Can he play on the left?
So why wasn’t he starting on the left tonight but coming on second half as a sub?

    * knows how he’s not scored yet, seems to get a decent chance every time he’s played. Once he gets his first I think he’ll start banging them in, very exciting prospect.
