Speechless. Lawwell and the board are a * embarrassment. We're the laughing stock of the country.

Did he? or maybe were our targets just reluctant to come here for nothing but ridiculous money that would have went against our clubs financial structure?

They can hardly laugh at us.

We've won every single domestic trophy for the last 2 seasons in spite of Lawwell's antics.

That would be akin to a homeless guy laughing at your curtains.

We have the potential to be so much more than being slightly better than average Tribute Act/Aberdeen sides and being European also-rans.

But that's as high as Lawwell wants to set the bar, lest it interfere with him and his Tory cronies coining it year-in-year-out.

Strawman argument. Other clubs in much worse financial situations seem to do their business competently enough.

And if we were indeed knocked back by any individual do you a) accept that the area you acknowledged required improvement, still requires improvement and therefore move onto other targets in that position or b) give up immediately and go into the next season with a swollen bank balance and an inadequate squad?

Okay and your rebuttal is spend spend spend and yes they spend small amounts on * players on wages they can't afford.

And I'll ignore the rest because it's hypothetical and appealing to emotion rather than reality and answer the last sentence, we don't have a swollen bank balance, the publicly available annual audited accounts will tell you that.

Putting the Moussa situation to one side, because I don’t think there was much more that could’ve been done, the window itself has been woefully bad. It’s hinestky been a catalogue of errors, poor decision making and a general lack of any planning or strategy. I could honestly write pages on it, but all I’ll say is this - we don’t have the finances to compete at the level we would all like to in Europe. There’s no getting away from that one. In order to compete we have to be smarter, plan ahead, have contingency plans for all occasions.

I don’t know who is to blame, but I would be very surprised if any of Lawwel, Rodgers or Congerton were blameless. It comes across as hugely * from the entire back room team and board.

I'd be happy with just spend, singular. Surely there's a balance between spending far too much (which no rational fan is advocating) and spending virtually nothing?

You ignore the rest because it's an uncomfortable truth that completely debunks your point.

On the last audited publicly available accounts we had £30.6 million net cash at bank, as per publication on our own website.

Can i have option 3 please......it's all that Conger eels fault, whoever he is.

Seriously, i'm finding it hard to accept any defence of the board here unless more info comes to light down the line.

Brendan could no doubt have played this window a bit more savvy and scouting network appears non-existent.

There has to an apparent attempt for the board to at least try and make it look like they're trying to match at least a wee bit of the fans ambition. I get the financial and business arguments but to use that as a defence for this window that has been deviod of any ambition is letting them away with * murder!!! imo

No, I ignored it because like I said you were appealing to emotion rather than reality, if you ask any football fan of any club would he or she wished his or her club to spend stupid money on players every single one of them would say yes, so it debunks absolutely nothing, it's a loaded question.

Firstly £30m is peanuts in football and secondly we have operating costs which far outweigh our domestic income, plus the Celtic Way, the hybrid pitch, the sound and light system which everyone loves when it's announced cost's a lot of money as does the planned hotel and museum.

Well in that’s case why did the club gamble with CL Qualification and a £40m pay day.. we were not prepared for CL Qualification due to two terrible windows..

Again maybe we we're aiming to high for players and UEFA FFP rules don't allow you to spend ridiculous amounts anyway in the hope to recoup it in the CL
