I think he is trying to find a balance with home grown players, maybe not Hayes but players that hit the criteria for European football.

Problem is the players he has signed are not good enough.

I think the system he wants to play we don’t have the personal to do it either so he will need to change it up or we face imploding and throwing away everything that he has done in the last two seasons.

IF we don’t get quality players in the next 9 days we could well * the 9 never mind the 10 and hand them another life line like we did in WGS last transfer window.

Bellamy was hardly a waste of money, guy was sensational for us. But I do agree with the vast majority of these guys we've done this before.

As for the defender, BR sucks big time at his teams defending, and unfortunately for me we are in no position to buy ball playing CBs which really aren't in a huge minority, just sign a defender who can defend.

I think there'll be 2 more signings before the window closes, a cm and a CB. We need more than that but i'd say it's too late for anything else

Correct, Bellamy was brilliant for us, had he not been injured we would have won the league 04/05.

We will bring in a loan CB, probably a youth from City :56:

Very open and honest from the gaffer as always I won't hold out much hope of anyone signing but if we do hopefully it's a nice surprise for us all.

It all begs the question...................why did we not get all this sorted over the summer ?

For a club our size it really has been very poor, a million quid pitch and fancy lights, at times as a club we are fur coat and no knickers.

Can’t wait for this window to be over and done with!

No expectations, no point in thinking/hoping this board are going to pull something good out the bag! Penny pinching *, give the fans nothing in return for our support.

We will be toiling for 8 in a row as it stands because of the boards biscuit tin mentality

Been a long time since I have posted here.

Simple fact is my return is as a result of the board making a * colossal sequence of bad decisions.

I hope in 12 months we are league winners, and on the brink of CL.

Can’t see it. We are eating ourselves from the insides out while the dobs gather strength.

    * sickening.

The frustrating thing is we are only one signing away from having a very solid 11 with fairly reliable back up options for every position, assuming Dedryck stays. That one signing is so essential to make though.

Ajer Boyata 'New CB' and Jozo would be more than enough.

My guess is brendan thought our Centerback options were fine for the most part, as hendry was still seen as a back-up at the time, compper may of been seen still as an option and all focus was put onto replacing Armstrong/Roberts and getting Piccini. We only just replaced roberts and failed to get Mcginn and Piccini, plus boyata has been a * so it might of threw rodgers into dis-array. Not trying to make excuses because we needed a new Centerback either way, but it might explain why we've left it late.

I think we WERE two signings away from having a solid team actually; a CB and a RB who could both walk into the team.
Now with Boyata being a *, we need three.

I think this is pretty spot on.
I think at the start of the window getting Arzani McGinn and Piccini, and locking down Eddy, while keeping the main core of the team in tact would have been seen as a very successful window by BR, with anything else on top of that a bonus.

The problem is when the McGinn and Piccini deals fell through, we had no plan B.
I understand they have their targets and don’t want to just buy a player for the sake of buying, but surely they could have scouted more than one player for each of those positions?!

BR probably didn’t see CB as a priority, and was willing to wait til January or next summer to strengthen but then the Boyata-gate scandal threw everything up in the air and they were forced to make a move sooner.
McKenna was probably seen as a player to watch, with the intention of making a move for him next year if he could put a good season under his belt with the sheep.

As bad as things seem at the moment though, one top CB signing will put us back in a great position, here’s hoping!

whats the odds on boyata coming out and saying hes fit and making the club out to be * again, got to get the * and his bad karma ofski,

polish center backs, hungarian center backs, swedish center backs, bulgarian center backs, swiss center backs e.t.c. they all on fantastic wages and would cost an absolute fortune or are we clueless

think peter is making this more difficult than it is to be honest, we either have lost our main targets or we were sure boyata would sign a new deal

maybe we should re sign efe :fear: i liked him yeah he had errors in him but he could play a bit aswell

We will have a busy deadline day. CB, RB, and a creative player on loan, Boyata out the door.

    It’s not Lawell.
Do you think for the £3.5m we have offered Aberdeen for McKenna wouldn’t get us the best CB in the Scandinavian, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian and Bulgarian Leagues?

    This is Rodgers and Congerton.
