i dont see the point n signing someone who is injured when we are in desperate need of someone to be starting alongside Ajer ASAP

Why are the club acting as if Christie is not of equal, if not better value than McKenna. More experience in the top flight, 2 good seasons on loan at Aberdeen, more international experience.

McKenna, 1 decent season in the top flight...?

How can we pretend like Christie is just some scrub we can throw in to get this deal done? I’m not saying Christie’s out of this world (I’m happy to part with him as he’ll never be good enough), but it’s not like he’s Calvin Miller.

If we gave them Christie and £500k - fine deal. Christie plus Hayes plus upwards of £4M?! Highway robbery by Aberdeen. I don’t know what’s happening to us, our transfer dealings are an absolute joke if we are paying this for a McKenna and yet we didn’t get the McGinn deal done or simply invest this money into a better CB.

We could sign a more established centre half for the kind of fee been mentioned that would instantly be an upgrade on what we have.

Wish we would get out of this young developing player bubble for a change and just sign some quality.

For every 4 or 5 duds we sign I would rather we just put that aside for a £5 million+ player or if we had a good scouting system we could pick up 4 or 5 gems for around £2 million. It can be done. We just seem to think we can’t look outwith Scotland or England.

The amount of money we waste on transfer fees and then all of the wages on top of that is crazy. We would be cheaper spending big on one player and giving him Compper, Allan,Hendry, Hayes, Lustig, Boyata and Jozo’s wages at least they would be more likely to contribute!

I honestly find it hard to believe that we could not find a better quality player in all the leagues across Europe in all these months that have passed.

It's hard to get excited about this one, to be honest. Nothing against the lad, think he's been decent for Aberdeen.

I was surprised to see that clubs like Hull & Swansea were in for him, so I'm not exactly convinced that he's the kind of player we should be looking at. I mean, would he even be a guy who's comfortable playing our style of football? In any game I've seen Aberdeen play, he just heads or humps it up the park. He may be playing to McInnes' instructions, but it's hardly ideal preparation to join a side that is all about building from the back.

Is our scouting department at the wind up?

* signing Aberdeen CB's to solve our defensive problem, very good.

If we sign this * that is a * joke. What we need is a solid defender who will come in and improve us right away and be able to deal with Lafferty and Harvey Price on September 2nd.

This * isn't the answer, honestly * lazy lazy pish in our scouting system if this is true.
