Thought the worst when he started on the board the night before our biggest game of the season.

Horrible feeling this is all going to blow up as soon as the windows shut and he goes while blaming everyone else for it and refusing to take any responsibility.

Aye it was bad timing but I thought it would at some point, shift us in to gear in this window..

Signing McKenna, an absolute donkey....for the money being banded about, is utterly bizzare..

I've mentioned loads that I can't go a lot of Brendan's interviews anymore as its full of * and contradictions. The biggest is quality over quantity..

Does he really expect us to believe that a potential partnership of Ajer and McKenna is enough to get us through next season's qualifiers...or even a Europa group? Then if something happened to Ajer, that Hendry and McKenna are some pair? Lol..

I still believe we'll win the league quite well..

We're still much better middle to front and they haven't played anyone of the quality of us. Plus the tempo they're at is unsustainable for 4 tournaments and why they're picking up a few red's and injuries already...but they aren't our benchmark considering where we've been for year's now dominating the game and raking in cash..

It's unacceptable and bringing in duds instead of scouring the continent for quality is a damming indictment of Brendan, the scouting situation and coaching staff. No way can he believe these guy's are the best we can do for the future, and why he'll be away soon..

Shocking state of affairs to get ourselves in this position...and of course the board have played their part as well..

The word I'd describe myself just now is total disillusionment..

Quite worrying to look at the centre backs he has signed throughout his managerial career.

You can talk about scouts, but you would imagine that Rodgers has authorised all of these: (this is the complete list as far as I’m aware, roughly in order of most expensive to least)
    • Dejan Lovren
    • Mamadou Sakho
    • Joe Gomez
    • Tiago Ilori
    • Jack Hendry
    • Marvin Compper
    • Matt Mills
    • Mike Williamson
Not much to shout about there. Looks like the centre of defence will continue to be a problem for Celtic/Rodgers

His recruitment has been abysmal, frankly.

Yes, Dembele, Ntcham, Edouard and Sinclair have all been unmitigated disasters.

It is strange how despite the scout team existing, there has not been any balance between the quality of midfield/attack signings, and the defensive ones. Brendan can spot good offensively-minded players. But neither he nor his scouts can spot defensive ones.

What about De Vries, Gamboa, Hendry, Compper, Benyu, Eboué, Musonda and Hayes?

We have made no attempt to recruit centre-halves until now, and our top target is Scott McKenna. Try to defend that.

Dembele was scouted 6 months before Rodgers came in, although his arrival did seal the deal...

Dembele’s agent Mamadi Fofana : “It is hard to talk about Moussa being with Celtic now without talking about David Moss.

“David was the first person who spoke with me from Celtic. He scouted him from November 2015 until the last game he played for Fulham.

“He was in constant touch with me asking how Moussa was doing and that interest is really important, but for Moussa to go somewhere, he wanted to speak to the coach to know if he was really wanted.

Ntcham and Edouard have been resounding successes.

Sinclair is probably sitting at a 7/10 if you were to rate his signing, 9/10 1st season, 5/10 2nd season.

That's 4 out of 17. Brendan does not get a pass on the transfers. They have been pretty abysmal to be honest. Our domestic success has been down in part mostly due to his ability to massively improve players that he inherited.

9 out of the 11 that started in the Scottish Cup Final against Motherwell were players he inherited from Deila, that in itself is a scathing assessment of how little an impact the vast majority of his signings have made.

We’ve signed four players of real value in five transfer windows. If that trend continues, the quality of our squad is going to nosedive; there’s no two ways about it.

I have to agree with this, 4 quality signings over 5 windows does not make you a success. So many of the players that shined were brought in by Lenny and Deila or came through the ranks.

Eboue is a good player that, for whatever reason, doesn't get the game time he should. Gamboa and Hendry were brought in as squad players, Benyu as a highly rated young player that cost us next to nothing. De Vries and Hendry haven't made the standard and it's the medical team that gave Compper the green light I would be having a go at.

You've already named Hendry and Compper and yet say we have made no attempt to recruit centre halves? They haven't worked out, for sure, and we definitely need better, but to say we have made no attempt is daft.

Am I happy with where we are? Of course not, but * me if we aren't the only fans in the world that would slate the manager after he won a double treble and the new season has barely started.

Brendan has received plenty praise for his outstanding contribution to Celtic and bringing us an unprecedented Double Treble but that doesn't mean we can't be objective about his signings.

We are always going to have failures in the transfer market - every club does - but the sheer volume of them is a cause for concern and we can't flippantly ignore it, even when we have just won a Double Treble.

In the challenging financial environment we're in we need to be squeezing every ounce of value out of every single £ we spend in order to put us in the best position to continue our domestic dominance and punch above our weight in Europe. Our squad is bloated with players that have contributed the square root of * all since being signed by Brendan.

Your comment about Gamboa and Hendry being brought in as squad players completely contradicts numerous statements he has made about looking to bring in quality and only bringing in players that can compete to get in the first team squad immediately.

You're trying too hard to absolve him of any blame here, we have to try and be objective. Criticism as long as it is constructive can only be a good thing for our Club.

@Lupis I meant that we had made no attempt to recruit centre-halves this summer until now.

The criticism is fair and warranted. He is a good manager, but he is not infallible. I have praised him often enough.

@Lupis Eboue is pish. Krasnodor seen us coming taking 3.5m for him. Who scouts these clowns?? Hendry, hayes, commper, eboue and next mckenna. Jeez what the * are we becoming. Maybe dermot desmond has a big bet on the scum for the title and that could make up some of the 40m we have lost out on champions league money. This season is gonna be long one bhoys!

Some may say I am harsh but if you look at his time at Liverpool, he went up and then took a nosedive. Many of his star players were there already. After they came 2nd they just went downhill. He was also shipping quite a few goals in defence. While he is good tactically and good at improving players, I'm really not sold on his recruitment.

Since BR came in, there were always quiet concerns regarding his recruitment especially from his Liverpool days. We chose to ignore it and pass it off as a fault with Liverpool's recruitment structure which is still largely true, but those concerns are now being abruptly realised.

This has been a complete shambles of a window. BR and the board all must take responsibility for it and look to put it right moving forward, January is now a huge window for us already.
