Yes they are. Just look at their reserves/ youth teams and the number of players out on loan.

I’d agree though, we appear to be City’s feeder team to an extent. It’s worked out relatively well though - but I’m not happy at developing someone for a year then them * off.

And as it’s already been pointed out, we don’t have a DoF and Lawwell isn’t one in all but name....

Would leave a bad taste in my mouth if Brendan gives a second chance to Boyata, and going by his media comments, he's going to.

Gamboa was more or less completely frozen out for far less. I'd respect Brendan if he's consistent, but if he can hold a grudge against Gamboa - seems like one of the nicest guys in the squad - but instantly forgive Boyata for a far worse transgression I'd be disappointed in him.

    Couldn't spot a defender at a defenders convention. :54:

Boyata , Sviatchenko,Ajer and Simunovic where already at the club , he's signed Compper and Hendry wich has not worked out its more to do with our recruitment through the years than the manager being able to spot a centre half no * at Celtic seem to can , last good ones were Denayer and the world class Van Dijk since then not replaced adequately.

We've rarely had a complete midfield, attack or defence since Lawwell walked in the door.

aye cos we keep punting them at the first chance , think if we kept van dijk along with wanyama etc and along with ntcham and our current strikeforce .

you can't build a complete team if the first chance you get you punt the best players even forster ahead of gordon , always going to be a bit hit and miss in the transfer market to replace and lopsided either attack and midfield strong and defense pish wich we now have.

He also gave Simunovic a new contract and has a real blind spot when it comes to Boyata Baresi..

Look at Lawwell trying to punt Dembele at Christmas, only for him and his agent to tell Brighton to bolt.

Same with Tierney, he undoubtedly got the same treatment.

Soon as Rodgers goes all our stars will be punted at the first offer over £10m.

Armstrong was another shown the door alright he didn't want to sign a new contract and we got good money for him in his final year , but you can;t say he's not better than christie, hayes, allan and kouassi.

You're not really taking into account that players like Wanyama and Van Dijk have aspirations of their own and might have wanted to leave. Virgil is now the world's most expensive defender and probably on around £150k a week, Wanyama is a first-team player at a top Premiership team and probably on around £70k a week. Well above what we can pay.

When these guys who have given us impeccable service and acted professionally throughout we can't just stand in the way of them when they want to move on for career aspirations or money. What we can do is reinvest the money we get for these guys into quality replacements, rather than the guff we are being served.

In Armstrong's case he wanted to leave and probably doubled his money in doing so, £7 million + for him was an absolute no-brainer. If we had got in McGinn for less than half of that we'd have been doing brilliantly. Instead we penny-pinched and are here scratching our arses 6 weeks on, looking no nearer to signing a replacement.

Its hard to replace quality when we sell and get every signing right like for like , on the flipside we used to watch carlton, cole, pukki ,bangura and amido balde.

Now we have 3 top notchers upfront since MON's strikeforce.

their is no way we would have been able to hold on van dijk, wanyama and forster till now. Also think sometimes it's better to sell a player when their in demand, remember when kayal and izzaguire were both being talked about as £10 million pound players?

For me this is something we have done right, it is the poor reinvestment in replacements that is the problem.

Calling it just now. If he actually signs McKenna and only him for the defence then one of two things will happen. Or maybe both.

    1. He won’t last the season.

    2. We won’t win the league.

think your overestimating a hun challenge and underestimating our double treble winners , many games has he actually lost as manager domestically ? and if i'm not mistaken conceded by far the least amount of goals the last 2 seasons too we don't need world beaters for the spl back there as going forward were too strong ,europe another matter though.

The huns have went out and signed two decent centerbacks for around 3 and a half million, whilst we're spunking 3 and a half million on a defender from aberdeen that is slower than Lustig and equally *. There is reason to critique the manager at this moment.

Look at the goals we've lost this season already, the alarm bells are well and truly ringing, even in the SPFL teams will target our weakness and exploit it, Brendan and the Board really need tae get the finger oot pronto, because failure to act in the next 10 days will be catastrophic.
