Suffering from a severe lack of ambition just now at the club. Something isn't right if this is the man our club are putting there faith in to restore our defence. Another point to note, isn't he ineligible for Europa league as he played for Aberdeen vs Burnley?

Its all just lip service, when the reality is that wherever there is a cheap way out, Celtic will take it.

I doubt Celtic will take it, they have probably offered £2m, Aberdeen will want far more as he has 4-5 years left on his contract. I don't think Celtic will go much more, if anything above that and I hope they don't. McKenna would be a better defender than a fair few we have already but for £3m plus you could get far more.

I just get the feeling that Rodgers' view of quality at CB is very unclear.

I wouldn't mind him here. I'd feel like we're moving in the right direction if we had Ajer, Simunovic, McKenna and another yet to be named centre back on 1st September.

Whether we get that is a different matter.

In summary I'd be happy if it was McKenna and another centre back coming in. If it's just McKenna, I'd be bitterly disappointed.

 

The CB we've been needing the whole time has been playing in Scotland for Aberdeen. How convenient is that eh? * embarrassing. Congerton's time is surely running out.

Is he better than Boyata or Ajer? No

I'm not sure you always need quick. I didn't think a lot of AEK's defenders were quick, they just used their strength.
