Lawwell, Rodgers and Congerton better use this as a tipping point to sort the f.uck out the who scouting network, because it’s primitive.

They had the cheek to say we couldn’t sell Boyata because there was no replacement, * help us.

We’ve had to suffer Lustig, who simply can’t tackle/stop a cross, and who shouldn’t have played for us again after the 3rd goal we conceded against Zenit(away) - you’d have got flung out the primary school team for doing what he did. And at 2-0 if we’d have got the away goal we’d have qualified.

Last week, and last night absolutely brutal again. Yet Rodgers plays him.

I'd be a better scout than Congerton, FFS. It's easier to look for proven players than raw talent. And proven defenders we need, in this young squad. Pareja and Kjaer could be targeted if Sevilla want Boyata. Reyes and Wollscheid are freebies. We can try for Terry.

 

The jackpot counter on Tipping Point is actually worth more than our transfer budget.

 

Livaja totally bullied our whole defence last night, did the same at Celtic Park, only 24, and cost £1.5 million.

Their centre half - Lampropoulos, he totally bullied our attacking players, he was a free transfer.

Lawwell is as wide as they come, or he certainly thinks he is, and Rodgers is great at framing things to make it look like he’s blameless.

Omar Alderete, Young paraguaian cb plays for huracan in Argentina, Fast for a cb strong, tall at 6’2 but also abit of a jack of trades. Would be a good shout.

Apologies for piling on continued negativity to the forum the last few days but I make this post out of anger, but with a point. Seeing other teams' transfer business is often infuriating, especially when it involves a player that is attainable for us as a club, and a club that is similar or within the same financial realm as us.

Enter Silvan Widmer and FC Basel. 25 year old Swiss RB. I don't see alot of football outside of Celtic and Scotland but I've seen this guys a few times over the last few seasons for whatever reason. Played for Udinese since 2013, and is an excellent 2-way fullback who solid at both ends of the pitch. Internationally capped 9 times by Switzerland. TM has him rated at $8.5M. He moved to Basel this summer for $4.5M...

The reason I'm posting this is down to the fact that it infuriates me when the club does not get deals done, when BR preaches quality over quantity, and we pay scouts and guys like Lee Congerton to bring quality into our club. This deal represents everything Celtic should be doing to improve. A young but experienced defender, moving for a very reasonable fee to a relatively similar club, and we were nowhere near it. Not linked, not linked with anyone similar, zip. We should be all over players like this and deals of this situation.

All we hear is "Patrick Roberts linked with return, Jason Denayer back to Celtic" and then when we get deals done, "Daniel Arzani coming to Celtic on loan from Manchester City, Izaguirre returning". Is our transfer system so inept that we can only bring in former loanees, loans from Manchester City, or domestic players who rarely improve our squad? We keep hearing about how difficult it is to bring in the "right" player. Well that transfer I'm describing above is exactly the right quality and fee for our club, and we aren't even close.

Point I'm trying to make is that we need to start scouting players and looking at transfers for quality, established players with pedigree and get out of this box we seem to be in where we look as far as former loanees or down south loans. How hard can it be to find a Silvan Widmer and a similar CB and get a deal done for that player? Cause it doesn't seem that hard for everyone else...

 

You know its dire when there’s not even any * rumours.

 

There will be signings mate. I'm expecting something big.

 

My optimism is fading every day, will end up a deadline day signing. Fingers crossed it is a big one.

 

We should really be employing guys from countries like Croatia, France, Spain etc to look for talent in their region. Someone who has a greater knowledge of the leagues and players.

Not got a clue but the big worry is that even Pedro Matias, exotic as he sounds being Spanish, spent the majority of his playing career in the lower league's of England (if it's the same guy).

I think it needs dismantled and started from scratch as it's obviously not working.

 

You could replace them with people from this forum and we’d be better off.
