If we don't sell any players for big money, will we still see profits at the end of this campaign ?

After the double treble and all the highs of last 2 seasons champions leagues, the team needed bolstered with fresh quality additions its hard to maintain it if no fresh blood as some players at end of cycle such as lustig and some others not good enough for the level we need to be at such as hendry and squad players there not contributing anything..still time left for europa tilt and we Need to make sure we get that league again so we are better prepared next summer.

It's isn't not making the CL group stages. It's the fact that since Lennon the board has skimped on reinvesting anything into the squad that we pay our money to see. If the board bought a couple of solid additions every year we wouldn't be needing two wingers a RB, LB, 2 CBs.

And before people mention broken transfer record. There is no way we spent £9M on Eddie the option to buy was £7M, I doubt we even paid that the transfer record is just a media spin to feed the gullible.

I'm not going to criticise Lawwell yet over lack of signings but * him for not using the influence he should have as a member of both these committees.

    • Member UEFA Club Competitions Committee
      • Member UEFA Professional Football Strategy Council as part of the ECA.

    • Ridiculous that he doesnt do something about UEFA and the blatant corruption that is going on regarding big league monopolisation of the group stages qualification.

Probably not but that's the big 'if'.

When it comes to speculating to accumulate we all know it and spoke about the importance of strengthening ad nauseam...yet we didn't.

If you look back historically through our peaks and troughs there's one remaining constant and it's Lawwell getting his bonus.

Failure should not be rewarded, it's time for this to be challenged.

You're missing my point. If we're relying on CL money or a major sale, are we really in that good a financial position ?

This. Lawwell earns £23k a week at Celtic, and receives bonuses on top of that. Surely given that his job is to balance the books and cut when necessary, his wages and bonuses should fall under that very same bracket.

Will they * though, this snake has to pay for his heated driveway somehow...

Probably not in a holistic sense but Lawwell will continue to skim his bonus just like he has historically through periods of sporting failure.

......it’s funny as I don’t seem to remember hearing you state this in May after the Double Treble was secured..why wait til now if we have been as poor and unambitous as you make out...the word that springs to mind here and that has already been thrown in the mix a few times by others is “entitlement”

The * should hang his head in shame. He is over paid for what he does at Celtic.

He is Probably one of the best paid at the club including players.

    * can’t stand the *.

Actually I've been vocal about it before, maybe on here maybe not. I don't live my life on here believe it or not. I've always maintained that the league isn't a bug challenge for us. We are head and shoulders above everyone else and I have also said we should've been making solid additions year on year or we will have to rebuild an entire squad

If you factor in his bonus, he's on just shy of £60k a week.

Makes you feel sick and show there is something complete wrong going on within the club cause I’m sure with all the rest taking a wage and bonus they are on daft money as well. Get the * lot out.

So you waited until last night, until after we were put out of the UCL to tell us all that you weren't going back.

Had we made it to the play offs and then the group stages would you have still boycotted the games?

That's basically what you're saying, nothing to do with last night's result, not buying that.

Question for those familiar with company law: can Desmond fire Lawwell and the board on his own?

No. Board appointments have to be done at an AGM or EGM, with shareholders voting on the issue. Being majority shareholder he would of course hold a fair part of the vote but he couldn't do it alone as his stake is under 50%.

I know where he’s coming from though, those in charge don’t put enough in to match what we give them back.

I’m honestly justbfucking scunnered with us and he’s right that it’s been brewing since the Lenny days. I thought Desmond coming down hard on Lawwell and getting Brendan in had sorted it.

It makes it harder to take.

No.. he’s a major shareholder not majority.. think he has about 30%

Edit: Maybe worded that wrong, think the point is DD doesn’t have a controlling stake in the club.. no doubt he is the major influence..

But why would he get rid of someone who’s making him so much cash?
