So because I'm not going to boycott games I'm in the Peter Lawwell fan club? You deduced a lot from that post of mine,I know * all about balance sheets, I can hardly balance my own earnings and outgoings nevermind pretend to know what Celtic's books are like and quite frankly, I have no real interest in our finances other than I don't ever want us going bust! But, that's not how I won't be boycotting games.

I support the team on the park, I support Celtic the football team, not the plc, I'm as annoyed as the next person but I won't be throwing my toys out the pram and saying I'm not going back because we never made it to the UCL group stages.

The fans behind the goal at the opposite end could hold up a banner with 'Interim Share Dividend' on it. He'd be up and down that wing like Didier Agathe on Speed.

Would rather spend £4 million on disco balls and his heated driveway than invest in the team.

we had a real chance to strengthen the team and secure 10 in a row would be unstoppable, as far as i'm concerned its now in jeoprdy because that * refused to invest in the team without making profits first.

while that is awesome to do it cant happen every single season, at least once we need to speculate to accumulate and this summer was it and if it costs us 10iar i wont give lawell another penny towards any outward merchandise.

Honestly mate i get your frustation.

Guess there will be plenty of (real fans) who will disagree with ye but as fans we need to make a point to the board and all they know is money.

I bet they are cursing the day they agreed to put those * disco lights in :56:Everyone and his dog are using them as a way to bash the club and point out how their priorities seem * about *...even big Sutton was doing it on the live commentary

The same Dermot Desmond that was here when we were in a European final?

Lawwell has a blueprint which sees Desmond having to do absolutely nothing whilst still earning a profit out of Celtic - he seems to like that, and only steps in when absolutely needed (like the Deila debacle).

Peter Lawwell is the problem - an astute businessman could rake in the same profits as Lawwell whilst continuously improving the side. We've just lost out on £40m because of Lawwell's refusal to improve the side.

The last few pages of this thread could be lifted from Lennys last few weeks when rumours started circulating he was walking, same scenario....the board not backing someone who is clearly taking the club forward, in Brendan’s case it is even more unforgivable considering his track record since he walked in the door and also how hard it must have been getting him here in the first place, to put all this in jeopardy because of penny pinching is criminal and counterproductive to everyone connected with the club...this is why the current situation is so irritating, all the focus should be on keeping Brendan happy in that hot seat driving us to 10 and the emphasis on stuff like Congerton, lights, hotels being no more than an afterthought, if Brendan decides to walk like Lenny did al those things would be bigger white elephants than Warburtons “magic” hat

IF you think sacking PL would change anything at celtic you are nuts,we could get a new guy in tomorrow and he would have to follow the same rules and guidelines that PL and the board do currently.....im not saying PL is blameless im saying he is not the man to sack to change the way our club is run or how we spend money.

As a business, yes. As a football club, no.

It's Lawwell's job to balance those objectives and on this occasion like many in the past he hasn't done so effectively.

The problem with finding this balance is that he is far too disproportionately incentivised to run us at a profit which means we very rarely find the balance right.

Not wanting to turn this into a PLC v Fan ownership debate but it's definitely a conflict that needs addressed.

You wouldn't want to see the club prosper and see them play better teams week in week out and enjoy a higher standard of football?
