His comment about not replacing Roberts is a bit rich aswell considering it was widely known Musonda was expected be Roberts replacement this season.

Hardly a replacement, given Musonda too was a loan. You can't build a team on loanees.

If Musonda was a successful signing we wouldn’t be talking bout a Roberts replacement.

Rodgers told us Musonda was of a similar ilk to Coutinho and Sterling fucksake.

    Shambles of a signing.

    Here the whole time
Only it's not a myth. I don't know about his record at previous clubs as I don't know all the signings at these clubs but if you're pointing to a half season loan to measure success, well.

    At ours though:
Dembele - has been said that the deal was already underway before Rodgers was appointed. Wether thats true or not i don't know but he was the manager when he signed so it's a successful signing.
toure - worked very short term.
    Sinclair - success initially.
    De vries - very poor
    Gamboa - anonymous
    Kouassi - anonymous
    Hayes - poor
    Benyu - :43: bizarre
    Ntcham - success
Roberts(loan) - made very few appearances and had a pretty poor season if we're being honest.
    Edouard - promising
Compper - less said the better
    Hendry - just awful
Musonda(loan) - appalling waste of time and money
Bain - back up keeper, no more, no less
Izzy - could be decent back up but his game has probably regressed a big over the last year given his age.

Out of 16 signings on Rodgers watch 4 could realistically be called a success, 1 of which was blatantly a short term fix, another has seriously went off the boil since his 1st season and 1 signing is very promising.
So that's 12 transfers that scale from back up to downright abysmal.

Thd biggest damnation of his abilities in the transfer market is we went into that game tonight with a starting 11 that contained only 2 of his signings. Granted if dembele and edouard had been fully fit then 1 would have started over griff. Still, that's only 3 starters in a vital qualifiers after 2 years and 5 Windows.

Well what about his signings here?

This is his 3rd season and our strongest XI features what, 3 of his signings? Dembele, Edouard and Ntcham.

Compper and Musonda were/are disasters. Gamboa has been chucked aside. De Vries was a flop. Kouassi didn't come cheap and he's barely kicked a ball. Benyu, Hayes, Hendry...

He's forever going on about quality over quantity, but his track record since taking over doesn't point towards that.

Do you think Jonny Hayes was the guy he identified as his number one target for a new left winger? Was Gamboa his main target for RB?

Every manager we've had under Lawwell, has had a plethora of dross that never saw the light of day at Celtic Park. Either Lawwell is overruling them and bringing in guys he wants, or he is going onto the fifth page of their list of targets and signing the cheapest options.

Rodgers wanted them at Celtic and he got them. That's the point. Lawwell didn't sign Hayes or Gamboa.

    He's not untouchable.

It shouldn’t be ignored how he has improved, KT, Ajer, Brown, McGregor, Rogic, Forrest, Griff, Dembele and Armstrong before he left.. he’s an excellent coach no doubt..

It’s no surprise that he would foucs on attack.. granted I didn’t foresee such a glaring disparity between midfield and attack in comparison to defence..

The same as Lennon wanted Pukki and Balde, and Deila wanted Carlton Cole and Kazim-Richards?

I just find it a bit strange that every manager under Lawwell continuously signs players who don't get game time. It all just points to it being someone at the top signing them.

maybe youve hit onto something here

maybe for what ever reason we aren't getting the first team players that brendan wants, so then the board come at him with lesser versions and as a manager his thoughts are "well we need these positions filled so aye geiz them"

but in the hope that the club will still try and get the quality versions not the prospects and squad members

i mean it kind of makes him out to look naive because we know the board tight arses will be like but you got your player

BR also appointed Lee Congerton, so ultimately BR takes a deserved share of the blame for our transfers..

All the rage will be taken out on Sevco in early September, a trailblazing victory and all will be forgiven and these threads will be lost in time.

Which is why * needs answered now.

Too many of our fans concentrating on one game against them instead of asking why we aren’t improving and signing players to set us up for success over the next few seasons.

I don't know what is happening. All I know, is that, for whatever reason, our managers are signing players and not playing them - I find that alarming.
