We have made £60 Million on champions league money according to reports. This money should be used to buy players and pay the wages of the players we buy that are of European standard.

For an example we buy a player of CL quality for £1 million and we sign him on a 3 year contract at £1 million per year we take that £4 million from the £ 60 Million we have earned in the CL.
What i am saying is CL money for CL players they can be then sold on before contract is finished .

    * the hotel and museum until we can do better in the CL then the affore mentioned will take care of itself.

No use in having a CL hotel and museam if we are always in the EL.

We are a club with a big name, now let us be a club that can match that name, get this Kelly biscuit tin mentality kicked into outer space. This is 2018 not the 1950s and1960s we are in a different world.
    Rant over

I'm not comparing their managerial ability overall but Neil Lennon managing this team would have seen us through.

We've been here before with Maribor and Malmo. They should have been lessons learnt in fairness but we bounced back from that and we can certainly bounce back from this.

I don't honestly see why people think we're going to have a fire sale? It's not as if we're skint or players (bar Boyata) have been seeking moves.

As I said previous it's majorly important that we don't sell what we have but rather strengthen. Having said that we all know what the board are like.

I can remember a banner the green brigade had before something along the lines of
"We're in here for you, now be out there for us." Maybe that's something the board should look at.

If we get past the Europa playoff and make the groups we'll be a second seed. If anyone cares.......

A big problem is why should defenders care if they play badly. Gamboa only plays if Lustig can't play, Compper is injured and Boyata won't play. They are untouchable

Tbh still not sure Clonbhoy. I thought his hold up play and flicks were pretty impessive in the first half. When Moussa came on Griff was still on so he didn't play solo. Bringing on Moussa was certainly the right choice, however it bounced off him a few times as well.

I wonder where all the people who were going after me when I said selling Sviatchenko without getting a replacement lined up first was a huge mistake have to say for themselves now, he wasn't our best defender, but he was much better than Hendry and he was our tallest defender and could be counted on during set pieces, which would have been useful tonight. As for Boyata, at this point his only hope at making up for his idiocy is either moving on and getting us 9-10 million or more in transfer fees, or coming back and playing his * off in the Europa league to get us European Football after Christmas. Either way we need another CB in now or we will just be embarrassed again in Europe

I am disappointed in the result but not unexpected, I am more than * off at the board for not investing in the defence over the summer. Whoever made this descision (Lawell ?) to not bring any CB or RB in should be held responsible.

Athens are a bang average team but were well drilled and organised to sit in and p[lay on the counter. Over last season we came up against teams that would sit in and we would struggle to break them down, only when we went 2 up front did we look likely to get anything from them. But we did manage to score twice against Athens over 2 legs, but defence mistakes cost us 3 goals. 3 goals that could have and should have been dealt with. This team of ours need help, it needs fresh players to keep going forward. We are definitely weaker than last season, you just had to look at our bench.

If we won tonight and went on to qualify for CL Group stages it would have been a major achievement, 3 years on the trot qualification from a League that is ranked so lowly. But the media don't see that, Daily * will be full of pish stories of our downfall and Brendan under pressure from the Gerrard Gravy train. But it will be a Major achievement if Sevco get to the Group stages of Europa.

If there are any positives to take out of tonight is it emphasises the need for 2or 3 quality defenders that match the quality of the rest of the team. Get them in and settled into the team and go on a good Europa League run, a decent run in Europe will galvanise the team, give vital experience and prepare us for another attempt at CL qualification once we win the League again.

I disagree, but he was hardly the weak link and it isn't going to be something I dwell on tonight.

They are probably just gutted about what happened tonight rather than patting themselves on the back about it. Each to their own though pal.

I've gotten used to European defeats against better sides, but that team shouldve been put to the sword in the first leg. How we managed to finish the 2 ties so badly, I dont know. You can point fingers, but on this occasion I feel hard done by.

Also too many people are giving Brown a pass but he has been terrible so far this season, I don't know if it's his fitness or age but we are not see the same broony of old, he is not only our Captain but is supposed to be the major link between our back 4 and those in front of him. But just like against Hearts his passing was poor and near the end he looked like he was out of energy.

I obviously know it’s not the CL, but there is no shame in playing in the EL...it’s a trophy and there’s money to be made there. Fix the problems and move forward.
