The way this season has started I want * all to do with Europe now. The Europa can get to * as far as I am concerned, the league needs the full attention for this team so we can get things back in order.

The reason this happens is because Simunovic and especially Lustig have been garbage for years and everyone but Rodgers can see this. And Rodgers bright idea to solve this problem was to sign and equally pish Dundee defender.

Board at fault all day long. Only thing BR got wrong is he didnae go 'public' months ago.
Hard to beleive Eoghan Ó Connell had enough to get us over the line 2 seasons ago. This AEK side were pish poor if you ask me.
The Boyata eposide defo played a part in this dreadful story. So yes defo the boards at fault.

The boards fault they rejected a bid for Boyata because the manager wanted to keep him for these games. The boards fault he’s now refusing to play while he’s hes fit?

    Very good.

    Just to put u
Just to add some perspective here. Mowbray spent £11.4M (excluding expensive loan deals like Keane) in 1 season.

Rodgers has had around £25M but over three seasons. And has recouped £40M in CL money alone.

The point being he hasn't been backed accordingly. To take a profit of £15M in prize money from a investment of £25M is a great return. And we haven't been counted player sales into that equation.

Could the board have afforded to give him another £15M before the qualifiers for example? I would feel pretty certain if bredan had been backed with another £10-15M before the qualifiers we would have beaten Athens tonight

I like Hayes as a person but I'd rather Brendan doesn't waste a million on him and give a youth a game if he can't get the target that was above Hayes on the list because he 1 he makes no difference in quality and 2nd point which is the most important he doesn't improve the depth of the squad because the youth player that
Could have came in would have performed just as good pure waste of money and bad strategy.... Basically wasting resources commper and Hayes money could have went towards a better player both Brendan and board are as bad as each other

Correct! And adds further weight to the suggestion that the current squad imbalance is down to poor management rather than Board members drawing the purse-strings!

I agree Rodgers is naive at this level but that was a poor side we've gone out to tonight. The Boyata situation never helped and you can see in every interview Rodgers grows frustrated with things are going and add the Mcginn saga to that as well that lies squarely at the feet of the board

The bottom line is that the board sat on their arses and were arrogant, complacent thinking that the squad did not need strengthened. BR is not immune from criticism either. Some of his signings have not been good enough. Hendry is nowhere near the standard of a CL defender, Compper has been a disaster, Musonda was a farce. BR is into his 3rd season as manager and the defence is still a shambles. Congerton as head of recruitment needs to be brought to task also and that was an appointment made on the recommendation of BR. Lawwell and the board * it up big time this summer and now the chickens are coming home to roost. It's a disgrace that it got to this and we as fans have been treated with utter contempt once again.

And how much of that £25m has Rodgers used to sort out the defensive frailties and goalkeeping position? Coupling in transfer fees and wages, about £4m?

    Pathetic.

52 goals conceded in 32 European games under Brendan. That's speaking volumes.1 win out of 10 when Hendry plays. Also speaking volumes.

Boyata is a problem of Brendans own making the board wanted to sell to Fulham Brendan wanted to keep maybe he should communicate with his player that way he would know he wanted a move

The point I'm making is that despite their ability. I would expect any defender to be able to jump and able to be agreesive in their own box and dominate. BR and Pl or DD don't need or shouldn't need to teach any professional. Defender that.

I'm going easy on Lustig due to services provided but he's done also. Buys the dummy every * time.

    Agree...Board are gutless spineless *.

No Ambition whatsoever. They bring in a manager like this and make about 80 million plus, winning back to back trophies, yet they do this to us regarding signings, again waiting on seeing if we get into the CL before spending big( if at all then).

    Eduoard payed by itself.

Also * Rodgers for letting this defence get into this mess in 3 years,he should also know better,he aint getting away scot free.

Always waiting on Enlish premiership to finish transfer window before we get the riff raff that dont wasnt wanted...* THAT.

We are Celtic,We have Ambition.....Get players in of great quality before we even start kicking off qualifiers.

    * YOU TONIGHT MAN

Even if he wanted away he should have been available for selection and gone afterwards as we have done countless times before. * Boyata

Hold on a minute here the two examples you have shown are down to Rodgers oconnell far superior to hendry.... Rodgers sold him for basically free and sanctioned a 1 million pound buy on hendry wasted money and the dedryk problem is Rodgers again he forced the board to knock back Fulham
