Coming into the window, I & many others wanted to come out of it with Kieran, Moussa, McGregor, ntcham & Odsonne, still here. We got Odsonne signed & Tom on a long contract just before the World Cup. Main jobs done. We can sort out defence before end of window.

    No TIM O'Brien yet.

Thought he would have been in defending Peter.

Getting big Tam on a new deal was excellent business and most were effusive in their praise in us getting that done. Doing the deal for Odsonne was a no brainer, every single penny and then some will eventually be recouped.

Around 8 weeks has passed since those deals were both concluded, so it's not unreasonable for us to expect a little more urgency in dealing with other areas that require strengthening, especially given that £40 million is on the line.

What good are cash reserves sitting in the bank while we struggle against a 10-man AEK Athens team playing their first competitive game of the season? Or more gallingly a *-poor Hearts team that play prehistoric kick and rush football?

The team needs strengthening and the board have had plenty time to do it...but haven't. Stop trying to defend the indefensible. They have gambled and it's backfired spectacularly and ruined the feel-good factor at the club. One that a strong RB and CB would be more likely to bring back that a new LED and sound system purchase ever will.

Hopefully those in charge at the club don't have the same mindset as you.

Actually, I'm beginning to think they do.

People quite rightly want investment in a side which has clearly stalled and is going backwards...Rodgers has hinted at as much himself. We 'missed out' on JOHN McGinn due to our arrogance and sheer tinpot attitude towards strengthening this team. It doesn't matter if you don't seem to rate him or see him as important, Rodgers did. That's all that any of us should care about.

The game against Hearts was a prime example of when a player like him could have been used.

People have seen this coming for months, even going into years now, yet those in charge at the club cannot.

Telling others to 'wise up' while you post that and are clearly in denial about the state of the squad is incredibly ironic.

We still have a good side, but if we just had even a smidgen more ambition we could have a great one. That is why so many are frustrated. The answers are staring us in the face.

If the Celtic board don't want to back Rodgers - a double treble winning, 2 time CL qualification, top level manager, who also supports the club - then what hope does the next man who comes along have.

It is very concerning. The Edouard deal isn't enough.

Where am I trying to defend the board, i'm stating my opinion about keeping our top players as a positive for the team. Not everything is doom & gloom like some would have us believe.

I also assume you missed, misunderstood or chose to ignore my final sentence.

'Sorting the defence before the end of the window' would be fine if we didn't have financially season-defining games before then.

Rodgers has been here for 2 seasons and brought unprecedented domestic success that should have seen him trusted and backed in this summer's transfer window. Not doing so has hamstrung him for our Champions League qualifiers and as such puts his reputation on the line.

Literally no-one has said keeping Rogic and signing Edouard were bad moves, the club was praised universally for them but that doesn't mean we can't be objective about the 8 weeks that have passed since. The failure to strengthen in defence is criminal.

It's not just the defense , Rodgers stated weeks and weeks ago we would need to replace Armstrong and Roberts at a minimum.Still waiting on those ! It's been the whole transfer window so far waiting and waiting with nothing happening.

Oh and there is fat shark jump also.

Celtic have £31m in bank but if they don't get to CL they will need that to keep the lights on basically and have to go with what we have!

    * doesn't have a clue - focus on yer own team ya fat *

Doesn't matter wich European competition we are in , Even if we drop into Europa you must still strengthen the team and have a right good go at the competition. Failure to do so would be utter neglect. And unless i'm mistaken 2 games in there's a treble to be won.

To lose a league to a bunch of loanees and free transfers would be incomprehensible and given where the strength of 2 teams are.

I was happy earlier in the window but our seemingly poor decision making and inability to attract players is worrying. McGinn would have hardly broke the bank, whatever I think of him he was clearly the choice from the club to replace Armstrong. If we can't get in a new cb with the 9m for boyata who actually wants to play for us then what chance have we got of progressing in Europe.

Lawwell does need to get his finger out as does everyone at Celtic and stop sleep walking.

One thing I feel like telling all these * in the media is Celtic operating expenses in 16/17 didn't increase by 33% as the club reported it was actually 20% increase the other 13% is that £14m we stashed in the bank! As that was reported as an expenditure plus that was the invincible season where bonuses would have been at a premium.

Plus Celtic didn't report £30m cash at bank in the financial year end that was at the end of the interim year so fat boy jack * up again! Celtic from my estimations could have at the Financial year to 30th June 18 approximately £37m to £42m available to them as cash and then add the £7m overdraft onto that and that's taking off the costs of the new pitch, lights, upgrades etc and I base that figure off a reduction in 2nd half income but an Increase in player disposal (vvd) plus the £14m tv money from uefa and also around £4m in prize and domestic tv cash and we will defer £22m - £24m in ST this year added to multimedia and sponsorship and worst case scenario EL we will probably break even and Still have the cash in the bank

Cash in the bank is of no use if the product on the park becomes stale and predictable , Brendan made a point up at Hearts the squad is not strong enough to battle and juggle 2 competitions while trying to prioritise Europan qualification , even if we sweep the boards domestically again so what ? as our full strength squad is far superior to the rest of spl , the fact of the matter is you must back your manager in the transfer market and try make inroads in europe wichever competition that may be.

the cash at bank is only useful if the cash coming in dries up, which as long as we have a full stadium and make at least the EL groups will always allow us to break even or run at a very minor loss. The board will not spend a penny more this summer on the first team - I will be the first to hold my hands up and say I am wrong if they do but it will be at most a token loan player at best!
