The argument about the lights is easily the most naive one I’ve seen on here recently, with regards to our transfer spending.

 

Which makes me think he was a default signing i.e we needed a defender and he was 15th on the list who didn’t knock us back or the only one we could get for our budget - less than £1million.

I remember when we used to sign diddies every couple of month back in the 90s. Now it’s every window.

Cheaper energy bills... some energy bill if it's cost £4m. Personally it was to use instead of loosing 40% to the tax man with profits. That's why not re-investing doesn't make sense.

 

Taking the obvious into account first, the stadium will periodically require upgrades and the club clearly want to have the best facilities available. More than that, long term, LED lights will be a lot more efficient and thus, cheaper, to run.

 

If you think the club saving money long term is a bad thing, you’re being silly.

 

Doubt the savings are that substantial, not like they are run 24/7, and are more expensive to replace. Still think they are an unnecessary cost at this point.

 

Think it’s part of the long term plan surrounding the improvement of our facilities though. Didn’t hear any complaints about transfer spending being impacted, when we invested in the surrounding area of the stadium.
