The fact our defence is * should not have been a factor in whether we signed Edouard or not. Young man is quality and should have been signed without any doubt.

Defence should have been invested in also, considering we've literally spent * all of our own hard-earned cash yet.

 

Thing is he actually did he said cb isn't his concern then went to say we could have Billy mcneil in their and it still wouldn't be good enough for the fans..... Brendan Rodgers likes the fans when we are parting with our cash to put food on his table but when it comes to our opinion he is very arrogant and disrespectful

Bs tbh everytime a player has wanted to move on they have with no hassle... Van dijk wanyama mcgeady forster I could go on the only thing the board have done that can be put in that context is when a player doesn't want to go and the board * about prime examples hartson Sutton agathe mcnamara samaras but sometimes when it's your time to go it's your time to go but I do agree the board need to communicate more with a player if they are letting them go

Looking at the accounts we made 17m in profits last year doing a treble and European run if we dont get into cl this year we will have a loss of 10m+ next year, buying players when there could be projected losses is crazy, Rodgers knows that he has to he is also a businessman and he is using us the fans to get his way so his ambition is met regardless at what it could cost the club long term, for a fan that I have no doubt he is I think he is being a little selfish

Think he is also forgetting that a bunch of players in the lennon/deila era got sold for quite a bit and wasn't properly invested back into the squad. Forster,Wanyama,Ki, Matthews, Johanssen,Ledley, Hooper just to name a few. Rumour is our wages is something ridiculous like 50m, but we know the media can blow wages out of proportion, it was reported boerigter was on 25k a week yet in reality it was less than half that at 12k. Don't get me wrong Rodgers should be getting better performances against hearts and 10 men aek with the players that we have, but if we don't qualify for europe the blame should and will lie with the board.

 

Also the fact we can talk about money and investments and the need to be conservative, but we invest in stupid lights for 4m?

 

Long season to go but we need reinforcements in NOW.. we don't have the squad to juggle all competitions.

 

I never knew Brendan was on a 3 year deal, until he mentioned.

I'm making the assumption as he's still a young man that he'll stay for the 10 or when something stops that happening.

 

10 in a row looks a distant dream now and we're only 2 games in Unless this is all hyped up crap and there isn't any real discord between Brendan and the board I can see 10 being at risk. The team were all over the place yesterday although admittedly a few wouldn't be first picks if we had real quality available. A few good individuals don't make a team. It takes time and effort for a decent team to happen and I would have said we were really heading there until all this has come about. Really cant stand PL. As someone said no manager gets everything right and it can be a long learning process...up until now Brendan hasn't been too shabby has he?

 

BR has been a mixed bag thus far with signings from great to disastrous. His European record is pretty dire as well but obviously domestically sensational.

He cannot complain about the backing he’s had anyway and I’m not one for sticking up for the board.

All about 10 in a row anyway and we should easily achieve that.

 

I would hardly call his European record a disaster. The fact he has got us into the group stages is a success in itself for us now. The gap between clubs with our financial power and clubs from the top 4 leagues, plus PSG, is far bigger than it has ever been.

I still think he has let himself down in the transfer market, but not as badly as people make out. Gamboa is a decent enough back up, although personally I would have him in front of Lustig now. DDV had just had a great season at Nottingham Forrest and same for Johnny Hayes at Aberdeen. Hendry I feel he signed because he's a young guy who can get better with experience, but again I think he wasn't expecting him to play anywhere near the amount of games he has so far. But he has attributes that suit the modern game for a centre half. He just has a lot to work on.

He's also signed young guys like Benyu & Kouassi that were long term projects, I think. Musonda was a flop but he looked very promising before coming here and with a bit more effort from the player himself, he could have made more of an impact.

He's bringing in potential, which won't always come off straight away, as much as we would like it to. Now we need experience though in the heart of our defence. He needs to sort that.

 

Commper is a * mystery right enough.

 

Mystery ? 1m punt on a 30 something * with a poor injury record. like that's going to cut it.
