There’s no danger he’s hanging about after this, he seems * raging and rightly so.

I've raised this before. BR will be gone if the right offer comes in from a so called EPL team. He wanted the Arsenal job but never got a look in. The current board are having a giraffe with the gaffer. BR can only take this current team so far. In Europe he knows we struggle against half decent teams. His stock will go down the longer he stays put with the current squad.

He's in a position with leverage that no Celtic manager has had with this current board. Hope he gets what he wants.

Him saying what we have been saying for years that we need to constantly progress and now we have the type and pedigree of manager Who can gives us our best chance of delivering that and a manager we may never see the likes of again....... then it ends with Rodgers is today set to finalise a one year deal for returning defender Emilio Izzaguire and secure Daniel Arzani on a two-year loan move from Man City.

    Haha * depressing.

This isn't some journeyman manager that's short on job offers. The board have played fast and loose on his loyalty to the club and didn't bank on him going public about his dissatisfaction.

Brendan has now shone a light on them and they will undoubtedly be feeling uncomfortable...and they should be. As he states in that interview, it's important to be pro-active when progressing rather than reactive. Any transfers in now, while welcome, will potentially be 'too little, too late' in our quest for the £40 million windfall for Champions League qualification.

While most other clubs seem to be able to complete transfers/contract extensions quickly every single deal whether it be internal or external seems to end up in a saga for us.

Given that the club was at an all-time high only 2 months ago after completing the 'Double Treble' it's alarming how quickly the mood has turned sour and with 4 times the amount spent on a new LED light system than net spend on transfers this summer it's not difficult to understand why.

Board need to get the finger out 5 minutes ago or were going to loose BR. He was promised the backing from the board but is not getting it at all, Also the whole principal of him not getting his man McGinn! I mean I wouldn't have McGinn in the starting 11 but BR wanted him....

Back him big or he’s away at the end of the season. I will personally kick Peter Lawwells baws if he allows it to happen.

This is brave and what we should expect from a guy with such a big name and reputation. Note that there is a common tone here: the board tries to use the loyalty people have to our club to turn them into suckers. It was like that with Lennon, to a certain extent, they were trying to use McGinn's wish to play at Celtic to save a few quid, and after failing that, no longer they can hold a guy like Rodgers as a hostage

Look, I’m no defender of the board, we have zero transparency as fans.. but is it the boards fault we went into Wednesday’s game with a back 3 of Lustig, Ajer & Hendry? I’d so no.. we have recruited poorly defensively since BR has come in the door, which is a fact that gets brutally exposed in Europe..

I wanted McGinn we’ve missed out there and will regret it, imo.. but is he really the best we have being scouting? If so what is Lee Congerton getting paid for?

The window is still open and Rodgers has sent a wee message to the board this is a good thing, let’s see what happens now.. but the hysteria around his comments is premature and well over the top at this point. And mask his own inability to get proper defenders in thus far..

Really disapponted will all of this. Seems to be the case every few years, that the board’s competancy comes into question, regarding backing of the manager. Really though it would be different with Rodgers but clearly Lawwell and the rest don’t really care who the gaffer is. Wouldn’t be surprised if Brendan just got fed up with it all.

Surely the board are aware of the extent of the backlash they would face, should Rodgers leave in the same vein as Lennon.

Some are acting like he has no backing. The club refused £9m for a player with 1 year on his contract because the manager wanted him and wanted time to discuss a new contract, so obviously there is some backing. I think previously Celtic would have sold a player with 1 year left for 9 bob and a pint of bitter.
Obviously some more is needed, but the club can only give so much. I would be happy with a couple of additions. If we got a midfielder and a CB (as long as they are quality) I would probably accept that.

We also spent anywhere between £7m-£9m on Edouard, which is a big statement for us.. knocked back £9m for a player in the last year of his contract, as you say.. made sure Rogic signed a new deal. All positive..

BR obviously wants a RB.. so RB, CB, CM all quality would be essential in the remaining window..

Rogic for me was a big move as I thought he would walk, and in previous years I think Celtic would have sold him if they could have got £5-7m. Giving out long term contracts for him and Tierney were big statements by the club. Although not fully there, I think Celtic is modernising its policy and providing more support to a manager than ever before.

The McGinn deal was badly handled and on the face of it looks unprofessional from PL and is defo a negative all round. So admid the positives there is the air of complacency and arrogance from the board too.

Complacency and gambling with loyalty seems to be a trademark of PL, complacency is our only danger domestically..

BR has said his piece and states the respect he has for those who run our club.. hopefully it’s a positive and will ensure further backing.. and the McGinn debacle becomes a watershed moment in BRs tenure.

Get the signings in and unite around the club..
