I'm shocked at how negative people are on here.

Logic tells me we will probably be going in to Europa. But on our day but we can pull off incredible results, we score first the whole tie turns on its head. I reckon the Greeks will keep things tight. Don't see them going in for the kill, so that could play into our hands. Fingers crossed either way

No chance of Dembele making it, no?

We missed his strength, his presence big style..

It looks like it will be beyond us this time . But you never know , if we can score an away goal early , and settle things nerves wise , we may well turn them over . A score draw ( higher than 1 - 1 ) would see us progress on away goals . We would all take that right now . It's such a bummer to drop out of the top competition , especially this early . So fingers crossed we take our rightful place as Scottish champions ( and ex European champions too ) . It's great for the club ; interest and excitement for the fans , and a whole load of cash being thrown at competing clubs . It's far superior to the Europa league .

Its just mental when you compare the negativity the last couple of days to the scenes outside the ground after the cup final a few * weeks ago. Were never just middling with some

    Really can’t see it.

Generally we are poor away from home and look nervous.

However I’d love us to have a monchengladbach, city or Anderlecht away performance, that would see us through imo.

The heat and our defence really worry me though.

We definitely have it in us but there just seems to be a bad vibe around the club just now and I think it could have an impact next week. Wouldn't surprise me if it ends up a really dreary 0-0 like Rosenborg and they go through on away goals.

2 away goals against opposition as decent as AEK is beyond us unless we play to our utmost best and they fold. The Stars need to align for us to go through, it's not impossible but I'm a realistic person. Should we go through I'll be exctatic, if we don't it's as expected.
I don't think it's negative to be honest about our chances. Naebody in this thread is claiming it's the end of days or that we are * and our manager has to go. It's the ones who are overly positive that worry me as they're the ones who will be the first to exert their disbelief and anger if we don't go through (and it's more likely than not). The rest of us will take it much better.

I'm not going to be that bothered because the first priority will always be the league when we are this close to 10IAR. The extra money would have been nice but if we're no gonna use it to buy players then whatever. Only losing the league will really affect me. If I'm wrong and we beat the odds and go through then * fantastic and I'll be overjoyed. We cannae have a near perfect season every year.

Some people call it negativity, some people call it realism.

It’s Celtic away from home in Europe, in soaring heat against a team that doesn’t lose and rarely concedes.

Also, who actually cares what we think? The fans over there will give their all as usual and if the team are affected by a poll on a forum then we’re in bigger trouble than I thought.

I’d rather judge the situation impartially than be blindly optimistic.

We couldn't beat them at home with 10 men and half a team missing. Barely broke them down..

I'm seeing the positivity shining through after reading that back..

    Fuckit AEK 0-5 Fenians..

The mindset Brendan has to get across to the players is that we are the better team, and we're more than capable of scoring over there. :giggle2:

If Dembele is fit then he and Edouard need to start together up top for maximum firepower. The objective is very simple - win the game. With our defence, a clean sheet is an unrealistic target, so we need to outscore them, simple as that.

    I think we will.

Suduva beat jumala 1-0 away tonight so if we do go out it looks like Suduva in the EL playoff

Sorry but preparing yourself for the worst instead of hoping for the best is just a * way to go about supporting a team.
Theres no doubt that the way some fans rate our team can change drastically from 1 game to the next against this level of opposition. Its evident as * in this thread. Im hoping the team that should have put 5 by rosenborg and did put 5 by astana and beer sheva turns up.
One thing Brendan has shown is his celtic teams are above the away leg pyschological disadvantage when the tie is still in the balance. Seems to still be instilled in older fans that were * going away in europe without something to defend.
