Yes. Neil Lennon had fewer reasons to leave (a bigger link to the club and not so much chance of getting a big job elsewhere) and left. If BR leaves he cant be blamed. The worse is who would take his place and accept to work in these conditions

At the end of the day the chief executive has to explain himself to the board and will do on a regular basis. If they are not happy with him then they will tell him to do other things or go into surplus funds.

Where did he say this? All I'm seeing is:
"So Peter brief's Chris for last night bbcsportsound and then Brendan uses the same guy for this dig. It's all very unseemly, undignified and lowering my opinion of both parties (One more than the other).
Chris McLaughlin: Asked Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers if board match his ambitions “I wouldn’t answer that. It’s private.”

    * opinion as usual from Harry Brady but by no means saying PL should sack Rodgers..

If this is true it sounds like Brendan and Lawell have had words about the situation and Lawell has asked this journalist to ask him publicly.
If true snake like behaviour from Lawell.
Seeing if BR is still toeing the party line.

while that is true, it was fletcher who scored a goal against us in the second last game of the season at easter road which practically ended our title hopes that season so at the very least he wouldnt have been on the park to score against us.

I have no doubt we would have won the league if we had Fletcher, we'd probably already be on 10 in row+ if we did.

We refused to by a striker the season Maribor beat us in the champions league. Ended up throwing van Dijk up front in that game as we we were desperate.

We signed Griffiths in the January for practically nothing.

Penny pinching board refused to spend those pennies in the summer otherwise we would have made the group's

Because his job title is CEO .. at that level in any company i am not sure how many CEO's or directors in charge of hundreds of employees have in the hiring and of personnel. I think you will find that he is essential to the running of our club and probably has limited say in signings...

Celtic football club is a massive operation and transfer activity involving PL is probably limited to final completion. I didn't say no one could do a better job than him.. i said i could not think of anyone who could and asked for names ... i note you didn't suggest anyone so i'm guessing you couldn't come up with someone you would rather see running the club

I’d be surprised and would find it short sighted if a manager of Rodgers caliber, signing a long term deal as he has, if he hadn’t agreed a minimum budget for each transfer window.

I’d also like to believe there would be agreements in place to ensure the squad quality is maintained and improved on, as opposed to reduced - in advance of vital CL qualifying games. Vital they all are but moreso current round and next.

Can’t say I’m well versed in manager contractual negotiations in the slightest but I think it’s safe to assume both parties, board & manager, would have explicit clarity on short to medium term resources and plans.

Again, I have no idea what the * is going on behind the doors of CP but it’s glaringly obvious the manager is responding to challenging questions regarding boardroom support with ambiguity.

In the public eye, we’ve been spun from double treble champs on the up’n’up with valuable player assets, stadia investment and a dominant future ahead - to an air of turmoil between management and a very possible exit from the Champions League, in turn losing out on 20-30M in qualification prize money.

Years to build up a feel good factor to what feels like a few days to erase it all.

Let’s look on the bright side. We’ll all wake up next Wednesday and realise it was just a storm in a tea cup. Playoff round to look forward to, a right back, star central defender and Emilio Izaguirre paraded the next game.

    Hail Hail

The more I think about it the more I get frustrated. It's like lawell thinks he is going to pocket all the millions the club has earned when he ends his tenure with Celtic, whenever that'll be. This window was meant to be exciting. To decent European campaigns behind us, 6 domestic trophies. About 7 million up in overall transfers this window.

We have lost a CB, CM and RM from last season and we have signed 2 players, one we previously owned, one ex-loanee all be that a great signing. I have tried looking for logic the last few days and still cannot find it.

Surely the board are looking at this and thinking themselves we haven't done good enough this window. I hope this talk of it getting better when the English window shuts proves to be right enough

Just throwing it out there for debate, but what about gross player salaries being a consideration that impacts transfer budget.

Rogic perhaps required an increase and signing fee

Are we paying more for Odsonne

Is KT on a higher salary

    Forrest, Gordon.

Have player salaries increased based on performance levels, milestones etc

Again, just throwing it out there

Some could get a reduction in wage based on performance
