It could have changed since then tbf, as we don't get regular updates on what DD is thinking/wanting. If you are right then Pete will be getting his baws booted shortly by DD :bash:
Yes we have the money, on the balance sheet. We are also planning on building a hotel. I'll be honest, I wonder, with brexit and the drop off in investment by companies, if it's become apparent that we will need to fund a larger percentage of the cost ourselves and this is potentially going to have an impact in the near future and he is preparing for that now. I honestly don't know as McGinn, for so little, seemed a no brainer for me tbh.
The truth is we are all on the outside looking in and simply don't know the full reasoning, we make up our minds on who we trust/believe in the most :giggle1:

What I really don't understand is why a section of our support defends an english fatcat * who is not a fan, doesn't give a * about the club performance, says we don't deserve expensive players but don't find it hypocritical to pay himself as much as what his counterparts in the top clubs of the world earn.

Some people go as far as claiming we are totally dependent in this one brave, skilled man, going as far as buying the "Scottish Football needs a strong R***ers" argument to say he did an exceptional job during that period.

He is such a wonder for finances that his penny penching with Ronny and sub standard players cost us 40 million, and he might lose out on that amount of money again for not allowing decent signings.

On the top of that, there were the attempts to criminalize and persecute our support, as when he banned the Green Brigade because a performance with flares that earned us the title of "best fans in the world". He is quite eager to parasite on our identity and ideals for profit, but the minute it starts costing him money he throws it away.

I hate this scumbag as much as a hate people in the other Glasgow team. It's people like him that take the soul away from football. My heroes are guys like Tierney, like Brown, like Larsson, not millionaire scumbags. We spend too much in hotels, light bulbs, hiring fancy guys who wear ties and do nothing and not enough on what football clubs actually should

Is the Izaguirre return a Lawwell or BR decision? I find it strange along with a few other deals in the past particularly Compper who is a total waste of money and a jersey.

PL is absolutely essential to the running of our club. If anyone has a suggestion for a realistic alternative then i would love to hear that name as i cannot think of anyone who could do the job as well as he does.

I don't know how much say he has in signings. Perhaps our signing policy needs to be a bit more transparent in who does what, maybe its something that could be raised at an AGM. This season (and last window) has been very disappointing in regards to sorting out our problems at the back.

"PL is absolutely essential to the running of our club...

How can you make the blanket statement that no one could do the job better than Peter Lawwell if we/you don't even know what responsibility he has in transfer activity?

If Brendan for talking sake were to leave it would be unforgivable.

If we don't qualify for the CL and it is later revealed that he has been limited in the range of transfer activity he was hoping to achieve this summer-- which seems rather likely-- I wouldn't blame him at all for leaving.

I can honestly see him taking another job down south as soon as a few owners panic and sack their manager in the next 6 months. I will be surprised if he is here next season

I’m kinda at that point as well, Brendan has a lot of loyalty towards us - that’s how we actually managed to get him as a manager. However, we cannot take that for granted and rely on sentimental feelings towards us to keep him here. We need to show we are right behind him 100%.

    Honestly why would brendan stay?
Top manager, back to back trebles, wants to make inroads in europe but not given the funds, cant blame him if he were to leave.

Brendan being asked if the club matches his ambition answering that’s a rivate matter between him and the board has me very worried.
